The EGRC that was in your truck was more than likely aluminum-finned. Cummins updated it to a stainless steel version.
Any T680 Owners? Would love some feedback.

I am sorry to hear your trouble. Do I sitting on a time bomb at 170,000? Ouch!deming807 Thanks this. -
Not necessary.
Make oil analisys every 10,000 and you will see.
Oram Thanks this. -
"I read a report from Scheneider. They are testing constantly all available trucks and engines. What they said about DD15 vs. ISX: The fuel economy difference is insignificant, to maintain the Detroit is a little cheaper, the Cummins last a little longer. That is it."
Oram, Where did you read that report ? Any Link ?? I would like to read that. I think that is the best source of actual MPG.
Thanks. -
Schneider uses the mx-13 as far as i know

Hi truckers, after 3 years city driving and 7 years night shifts, switches between Mtl and Toronto and last year and half doing road-trains, I finally decided to become Owner/Operator,
main reasons, tired off this small pay checkes and second reason my wife is driver too so it's much better for us. For the last 2-3 weeks doing research on different trucks, Volvo, Fl an KW, in the beginig was thinking Volvo, then FL, now thinking KW T680... Thank's to your Thread and your advices and experiences.
Went today for second time in last 2 weeks to KW dealer but this time to see and try the truck. Its been 10 years from the last KW that i was driving for Parmalat. Looks good, feels great. I ask sales man why people choosing ixs instead paccar motor, he reply that its actualy oposit, 85% choose Paccar motor and automatic he told me, saying that people this days dont really know much about Paccar mottor, its not as before. I also heard that since Cuminns motor started to be bild in china its not the same quality and hade more issues lately..
I still have to do more research on diferent company's and they rates couse Im really new in long haul and owner operator thing. So got to understand were better to work and were to drive + what the diference between Company's, some pay pay for that, some for this...this kind of stuff...
Thank you guys for your advices in hear. -
The mx13 is a great engine in my opinion it pulls way better than I expected it too. However if you're running teams I think the 680 is a but snug for two people. -
Yes i notice, little narrow place. when i checked the same day FL, it looked biger in the sleeper, but maybe becouse it with my wife that I planing to drive its not so bud, atleast its supposed to be more quality and durability in KW... If I plan to do California then i guess i wood make a like 575k miles in 2 years and half, so i can forget to gain 10k $ more for this truck compare to FL, couse the dealer in KW told me, you'll have to sell it at around 910-915k km if you want to sell it for good price, otherwise after 1 million km you not getting 10-15k more compare if you bought FL. Couse in the beginning i thought if KW wood cost 15k more then FL so i can have back my 10k that i overpay when i sell KW, but now i realize that if going with to Calif all the time then forget about selling it after 4-5 years and getting more money.

That's why i have to learn in the next couple of month about all those things, Truck's, Company's, different rates and different conditions that company's offer.
