I'm not allowed to go to Wilmer, too far west for a Hoosier.

Who's going to get the trailers fixed, after you leave?

    48Packard Thanks this.

By the look of things, Schneiders' trailers might be worse. Good luck with your plan. I seriously considered Schneider myself. I even submitted an application. But family obligations have kept me off the road for about two years. Dispatching yourself looks very appealing.

Hand to god, a huge reason I wouldn't drive for Schneider is because I don't wanna haul those pumpkin trailers. The most valuable resource trailers here are bad enough...

The only good thing about Crete is they finally got rid of the old, junky trailers. I do not miss fighting the sliders on the worn out 210-216 series. The bad thing is the current fleet of trailers will be as bad as the old ones soon, due to lack of maintenance.

I haven't had any problems with the new wabash trailers, and they are not as bad as some other new trailers from other manufacturers. Some of the Hyundai used to show up at one company I worked at wth pop rivet heads and metal shavings almost ankle deep on the floor of the new trailers. You couldn't even load them until you swept or shoveled them out. WTF?

    48Packard Thanks this.

When I was a company hand there, trailers were a major issue. They have improved their trailer pool greatly....I notice the trailer numbers they have on the road now, and overall they're much newer. Bottom line is there will still be drivers that leave problems for the next guy.

Lack of maintenance..? Have you seen the trailers other carriers put out on the road? The worst one I've seen here would be among the best at USX.

Lone Ranger 13 and 48Packard Thank this.

Yes, lack of maintenance. I'm not talking about other carriers.
