Problem is, that the cameras are sitting on the windshield right in front of you. It's a major distraction and like the hundreds of safety messages they send every month, distractions are the number 1 cause of accidents.

The stress level goes through the roof when that light is on for hours at a time. The stress causes drivers to miss exits, forget what they're doing and it makes the drivers less likely to pay attention to what they're doing.

I started with Millis almost 21 years ago...

If I were to take a guess I'd say it was Mikey that got the DUI ??

They were nothing more than entry level bottom feeder back then, but they did have some really nice (but slow) trucks..

Your entitled to your opinion if it makes you feel better, but the thing is trucks are running 120k to 300k miles a year vs 15k for a car. Also trucks are 80k pounds energy vs 4k pounds in a car. Also, truck drivers are supposed to be "professionals", car drivers, not so much. See the difference?

I don't like them either, don't misunderstand. But you also need to understand they are coming, and will become mandatory at some point in the near future, along the same lines as was mentioned to follow suit with commercial aircraft. Facial recognition software and audible alarms will also be implemented to detect distracted driving and head nodding (dozing or too busy reading something you shouldn't be reading). You don't have to like it or agree with it, just understand it's coming to a truck near you. And there will be plenty of players calling for it (mainly federal bureaucrats), but bottom line is, hundreds of major crashes every year by distracted "professional" truck drivers, causing multiple deaths each will be the primary driving force.

Anytime a crash occurs where distracted driving is likely, phones will be confiscated by responding cops, and phone records will be subpoenaed. Any fresh spilled soda or food in the cab? Distracted driving will be assigned. Most distracted driving incidents where a major crash occurred are pretty easy to identify in the early investigation stages, with or without video.

So the reason that you're distracted is that safety sends you too many messages and the light is on? Sure thing boss, sounds like a valid reason to be a distracted driver.

Don't forget about that wreck up near buffalo where one of their "safety advisory board" members killed someone and it was found he was watching porn on his computer while driving, as well as 38 hours off on his logs. It happened back while I was working for these clowns, and right after that they took away all of the health insurance plans, and even starting telling shippers like miller and Budweiser to start sticking even more weight on the beer loads, even if illegal. I picked up one going from ####weiser's plant in St. Louis going to Texas, it wound up being 2000# on the drives, same for the tandems, as well as over -gross. The message I got back after I informed them,, from none other than Jeff Millis in dispatch? "Just run it as is, the scales won't say anything". Avoid Millis at all costs if your are an experienced driver and like to keep your record clean.

And that's when I'll stop trucking. What's next, installing cameras in your house to see if you actually go to sleep on your 10h off?

In cab cameras will not stop distracted caused wrecks. A wreck can be caused by texting, an idiot 4 wheeler, or even you looking at a bird fly by your dash.

Message went out today Qualcomm. While watching us with the cameras they've noticed that drivers using only one hand on the steering wheel are holding the steering wheel incorrectly.

They have a certain way that you're supposed to point your hand when holding the steering wheel.

I regret googling Millis arrest in Black River Falls. It showed an even more disturbing arrest of a Millis.

Tamara Millis (same family) was charged with shaking a 10 month old baby causing permanent brain damage. Shaken baby syndrome. Was a few years ago.

Some of you are so full of it. Your eyes must be brown.

I've a camera in my truck for almost 2 years now. Haven't heard a peep from safety even when it has turned red for things like adjusting your 5th wheel or hooking a trailer to hard. After a couple weeks you forget its there. Only reason you would be stressing is if it has caught you doing something you have no business doing. You solve that problem by behaving. But again since we have a saturation of steering wheel holders in this industry. I guess I can understand the fear. Just know this fact.

A SUPER TRUCKER will survive. Yeeee hawwww

Call bs on the bud plant in St. Louis, they won't let you leave the yard if your overweight on their scales, and you have to scale out before you leave, unless you went in with empty tanks, which they have a sign saying don't go in with empty tanks.

Yeah well when I left they told me they wouldn't re-load it, and yes that is what happened.....it was about 4 1/2 years ago, so you must be new to them. And also that was with 1/2 a tank... There is still no excuse for any shipper to over load trucks over weight regardless of what they have the their tanks. As far as I'm concerned the millis family is a crooked bunch of scumbags who don't care who they screw over or kill to make a profit.
