this co. just mills students thru a lease with no consideration for compant drivers. i started 3/13/08 and want to quit as of 5/17/08 as a company dr. however im stuck in nebraska watin for a ld on 5/20 that was supposed to be lded on 5/19, they are so bad they wont let you bring back the truck without screwing you over first. at this point im ready to call police and file a report that im being held aginst my will , so i dont get chrged with abandonment on the trk. take this advice stay far away from cr england .

That's totally correct. I stated that same fact a few days ago. CRE doesn't care about the driver, just the $$$ and there isn't much left for the driver. That is why they lost the lawsuit.
About their school, I was in the back lot watching the students do their driving test. One student was making corners and ran over every barrel he came across. The barrels were filled with cement too. He did a right turn and hit the barrel ,where the landing gear is on the trl.,and backed up and somehow ended up with it under the tandems of the tractor. The instructor shook his head and PASSED HIM. They just want the Gov. funding for each student.:biggrin_25510:

Actually they didnt loose the lawsuit. Unfortunately the lease program was found to be legal. Google it and you can read the findings.

Im not defending CRE but they did not lose the lawsuit it took 5 years and cost them alot of money. But on the lawsuit for the 2002 to present lawsuit it was determined that they did not violate federal truth in leasing regulations. However the 1998-2002 leasing program the court found that It did find some provisions in violation of the regulations mainly related to non-disclosure of certain charges and deductions. The court ordered England to provide an accounting of deductions of certain moneys from escrow funds of class members under the former lease agreement, and to propose a form of accounting to the court in the next several months. The only good thing to come out of it was that England revised the lease program. Which still isnt very good for the leesee in my opinion. But its about profit always has and always will be. I i ran that company i would want to have money roll in as well. As shady as it is it cant be as shady as some of the wall st scandals going on. LOL just dont lease from them is all i can say. You can make it succesfully if you want to live in your truck and be home every 3 to 4 months.

Well just about everyone and their mother goes to Hunt Point. I did alot of loads for Daylight transport. Which england does alot of. Usually from NJ to LA or vice versa. Although jersey is not NYC its good enuff to get you home. The daylight i was talking about is in Jersey city or Union city or Hoboken. Dont remember which but if you drive for england you will deliver to all three, most of the time your bringing meat in.

Hi folks! Springloaded here, former SRT driver of 6 years, with 9 total.

Warning!!! Stay clear of Crooks Run England!!! They are a bad, bad
company. When I went to work for them, back in March of 2002, they
were the only company that I was able to find, at that time, who was
willing to pay me a decent rate of pay, even though I was an experienced
driver, coming off the bad experience with Swift's takeover of M.S. Carriers.
I drove a trade truck from S.C. to Raleigh, N.C. to pick up a damaged trailer
& ran it out to Salt Lake City for them. When it came time to get paid, the
qualcom showed $0 due me! I was exasperated!!! I contacted them; &,
they told me that they would advance me $200 so I'd have something to
send home to my wife via a com-check. Come time for the next pay-period,
they showed me in the Red, as a result of the advance. The fact was, they
owed me $$$ from the previous period, in addition to the $$$ I had earned
during the 2nd. This time, they did $500; &, this continued to go on & on.
I lost my 1st dispatcher after the 2nd week because he quit. The next 1
I was assigned was a good guy; but, was unsuccessful in getting them to
resolve the pay issue. As I entered into the 3rd month, I told him that next
time I got by Jacksonville, FL that I was cleaning out my truck; but, that I
would continue to run loads for him, provided that they continually brought
me back toward S.L.C. He arranged just that; &, within a week, I had the
tractor back in their possession, along with my demand to be paid all of the
back pay that I was due. By that time, they owed me over $2,500. It gets
a bit involved; so, I will address that next time; but, they maintain a smoke
& mirrors pay system; &, yes, they favor the lease drivers over the company
drivers. But, don't be fooled: The only reason for that is, they intend to strap
those drivers with hefty lease payments, resulting in maybe $14 to those driver's
good, after all of the payments! Heck, they can't even afford to eat while they
await their next $14. That's why I have dubbed C.R. England as Crooks Run
England, because that's exactly what they are!!! They have a very beautiful
facility that they have built; but, it is orientated toward the benefit of those
who work on site; not toward the driver!!! They have rooms; but, they bunk
about 8 per room; &, their small T.V. room has about a 15 inch colored T.V.
in it. They are not at all a driver oriented company: It's all about them!
The sole purpose of the driver is to make them $$$! As I said, they are
a bad, bad company; at least as bad as Swift or Covenant, if not worse:
Steer Clear, steer clear, steer clear!!!

    billsgirl and AfterShock Thank this.

I currently work for CRE. Im lucky Im on dedicated account which gives me weekends off at home and most of the time im able to layover at my own home. I attened the Indiana school which is honestly a joke I hade my Class A in 11 days from when I got there. Yes this is a mill all they want to do is get you into a lease and screw you over as much as possible. They really dont care about you in anyway unless you are making them money. Something goes wrong and your on you own. They will promise you the world on the phone ( Recruiters) and give you a world of pain. Im stil within my first year od having my Class A and cant wait for better oppertunities to open up. My advice is yes stay clear of them unless by some act of you god you get as lucky as I did and it seriously doesnt happen much.
