I try not to talk on the radio much, I suck at CB Lingo. But the biggest reason is NO ONE ever seems to be able to hear me. I cannot figure it out because they CAN hear my husband on the same radio with the same settings. Any ideas...

Are you holding the mic close to your mouth? I have a RK 56 noise canceling mic. I touch it to the corner of my mouth. Do you have a mic gain or dynamic? If you do turn it all the way to the right, wide open.
-
I know the radio is a Texas Ranger with some mods to it, the mic is an Astatic and I do hold it close to my mouth.
-
OK, one of two things then. 1. Talk louder. 2. Make sure your husband shows you how to turn the mic gain up. He may turn it down because he maybe a louder talker than you. That's all I can think of, If everyone hears him and not you.

or maybe its just people are too involved in their own thing.... or are too busy cursing each other out or talking about the latest chick they didnt score with or where a girl is with her skirt hiked up... it could be your voice is too soft, or it could be normal cb operation....
try starting out asking for a radio check that can be a way to start up a good convo... even if it is about your radio, and theirs. -
but but... i am the latest chick they didnt score with and the one wearing the pink short shorts
I'll try the mic gain thing, just annoys me when the few times I actually try to answer questions no one hears
If you see a Werner pete with a missing driver side nose mirror (thanks swift) and a big old dent in the front driver side wheel well (also thanks swift) that won't answer that be me and I'm trying to answer ######. -
You know it might be those swift trucks that are killing your radio signal...It looks like you have a problem with swift trucks.. So if no one can hear you blame them. and we will be on your side...
Speak louder and turn up the mike gain is about all you can do...Also you might want to have the SWR checked. -
i dont think its the settings guys...

maybe she needs tweaked and tuned

No need for the veiled rudeness. A Swift truck hit us, it happens. If it had been a Marten truck I'd said thank Marten, if it had been another Werner I'd said thanks to Werner.
