One thing I forgot to add about Caledonia when I was there they were governed at 72 I've heard they have since been turned down....The were grossly under powered so if you're use to a left lane truck you're in for a bit of an adjustment....

    Some guys don't care.......just sayin

LTI doing business as Milky Way Transport in the Pacific Northwest(Oregon, Washington and Idaho) pays hourly at around $19.00 an hour with overtime. Home every night most runs. Line haul or farm pickup pays the same. Fair benefits and bonuses. Electronic logs, easy paperwork, great bosses. A quality company. I worked for them over six years but lost my temper at a ####### dispatcher who later got fired for theft, dishonesty and other stupidity. My mistake quitting. I was making almost $60,000 a year without breaking a sweat. The only downside was dairy cows don't take days off so the drivers sometimes work holidays, but are well, and I mean well compensated. Milky Way cares about there people.
    Wish I had not quit.

Thanks for sharing. When you say "around $19.00 an hour with overtime", do you mean $19.00 AFTER overtime? Is $19.00 REGULAR, hourly pay and then time and a half after that? Just curious.

About $19.00 an hour and time and a half for over 40 hours. In August of 2013 I was making $19.14 an hour, but that was with 7 cents an hour added for every year of safe driving. I worked for them for over 6 years. So I was making 42 cents extra per hour above standard hourly wage. So $18.72 an hour plus 42 cents safety bonus per hour for every year safe driving for a total of $19.14 an hour before overtime pay. Overtime, for me, was $28.71 per hour. I quit in August of 2013, so I don't know what scale is currently. Cost of living increases yearly. Since dairy cows don't take days off it is a 24/7/365 day a year job. You will work major holidays if your normal work days fall on them, but if you work Christmas, New Years, Thanksgiving and so forth you make normal wage plus holiday pay which is basic 8 hours pay whether you work those days or not. Farm pickup drivers were on a 4 days on and 2 days off schedule before the new restart rules took effect July of 2013, so the farm pickup drivers had to switch to 5 on 3 off to get their restart. I doubt if it will go back to the old 4 on 2 off schedule since the recent restart rules reverted to the way it was before. Line-haul drivers worked until they got low on hours, then took 2 days off and most of them were still home every night. And that's just the milk hauling division. Check out their website. LTI owns Milky Way, Lynden Transport, Brown Lines, Alaska Marine Lines(AML) and has ocean going barges plus an air freight division. And the have a small hovercraft division to ferry mine workers up frozen-over rivers in the winter way up North. Team drivers run the Al-Can from Seattle to Alaska.
LTI, no matter which division, is a very good company to work for. I messed up and quit my job with their Milky Way Division due to conflicts with a dispatcher who was no good and that dispatcher was finally found out and fired for dishonesty, mismanagement and theft of truck diesel for his pickup. He lost a $70,000 a year salary job and lost his house and lots more. His problem. Too bad his attitude cost numerous good people their jobs. I should have stuck it out. Wish I had.

I live just outside Louisville,KY and see ads everywhere from Ruan. Problem is they don't pay that much, but they sure spend some money in advertising.

Thank you for all the info. I found LTI's website and will check it out.
Maybe since the dispatcher was found out and fired, you could apply for your job again?

I tried that as soon as I found out the dispatcher got fired. My old boss went to bat for me but the HR Department said no. I up and quit on the spot when that dispatcher told me some bull, and the HR Department won't re-hire people who quit with no warning. Despite that, it's a great company to work for. Good luck.
