Glider Trucks

My aunts cousins sister has a buddy that has 1 of the CORONADOS from HARRISON and works for my son as an O/O but supposedly I cannot tell you about it

 

I drove a Fitzgerald Coronado
Had a 12.7 Detroit and a 10spd.
Had it for about 6-7mths.

I liked it.
ECM was giving me trouble when I first got it. That got switched out at Freightliner not sure if it was warranty, was a company truck.

Alternator went out at one point also.
Guess some of that stuff can happen.
Other than that it ran good.
You did say the Coronado you were looking at was from Harrison but probably not THAT much different.

 

Hi SHC, you left yourself wide open for FLATBED's comment, but being a Pete guy, definitely go with the Pete. It's a much cooler truck, and you have resale later on. Be careful with glider kits. Years ago, they were all the rage. I've known several people that did that, and saved a bunch, but unless you do it yourself, there's a lot to it. Wiring, air lines, alignments, can all come back to haunt you, and there are so many trucks out there, it may be easier to just get the truck you want. It's a big project, for sure, good luck.

These are not gliders like you remember from the old days. These are turn key ready to work trucks already built with reman motors, trans, rears installed. Google Harrison and Fitzgerald. Sorry SHC not to jack the thread.

I have a fitz glider . 12.7 13 3.42. Tall 22.5. We don't drive for mpg. We drive for miles. Almost always in the high 6 mpg to low 7's. Again this is running 75 mpg. Truck is a 2012 and sitting at a little over 300k. Show me any truck on the road that can go 300k without a few minor issues?

Had 2 alternators go under warranty, an air bag under warranty and a speed sensor, which Fitzgerald priority overnighted with Saturday deliver, no cost, no questioned asked. You can bet your paycheck my next truck will be a Fitz. And you can bet that even with the1800 monthly payments, I'm still making more money with this truck than our last one, that was paid off.


The Harrison boys were on my radar, but their glider Coronado's don't come with the full running boards or rear box's. Their motors don't come standard with the big Borg warner turbo or the ported coated manifold. Fitz did on mine. Why pay extra when fitz was cheaper and it came standard.

I know cowpie had a great experience at Harrison. So I see nothing wrong with their product...just maybe different situations.

 

I don't have a glider. This is only a test post. If I had a glider, this might've been followed by some useful information.
