    Coach,

I'm going to lead you another direction, after I tell you to try some tums etc etc.

Some sinus infections produce an odor, that only you can smell. Due to their obvious location.

When mine get serious enough, I get a quick (sometimes not) whiff of rotting meat. That's the infection. And I #### near lose my lunch every time.

See your Doc, or stay on the current meds for another week.

This is the correct answer. Same thing happened to my son, and the Dr stated exactly this. You can take tums, after you have taken your meds. Make sure that you are taking these with a meal, not on their own, they will burn a hole in your stomach. :yes2557:

Ok since most commented about the smell...if you've ever gotten an antibiotic wet or damp, like the nasty smell when you pop the lid on the bottle...that was the smell.

For those that suggested tums, I thought about that but for some reason ice cream calmed my stomach down. So I'll be gaining a few lbs over the next 10 days. :biggrin_25525: Thks for the help!

You think it is the cultures in the dairy products that offset it?

Call the doctor and I wish you and the family lots of luck for a quick recovery:biggrin_25526: Might have to invest in gas masks.

Gas or flatuence,as the doctors call it, is common.People expel gas 10 to 20 times per day. This does include belching.Certain foods and drink will cause excessive gas.Soda, beer, dairy, vegetables and foods high in fat content.Antibiotics can also cause gas. They may help your sinus infection but they also disrupt the good bacteria in your intestinal tract.Which in turn will cause excess gas.The gas problem will go away" no, not the price of gas"but your symtoms after you are done with your antibiotics. There are some over the counter medicines to help with your problem. One is any product with simethicone.this will help you with belching or as you call it the desire to throw up.Another is beano. The jury is still out on beano, but it may help.I had sinus infections for a few years.Went to the doctor, took antibiotics, and they still came back.I started using nasal strips at night.Breath Rite. One every night before bed. After 3 months I had no more sinus infections.More oxygen to the nasal cavity means less bacteria. It's been 5 years since I went to the doctor for a sinus infection and it also cut down on my snoring. One thing, talk to your doctor before mixing over the counter drugs with prescription drugs.Good luck.
