c'mon.. being he's with Shaffer he's probably simply stuck in traffic somewhere in the Northeast on his way to a 2am live unload that will take lumpers 6 hours to unload.

The 3 CPM made me think about Shaffer for a minute. But literally about a minute, before thinking about the constant headache spelled out above. Not worth it. It's not whether Reefer makes more money for more work/frustration, I just don't see it making as much as dry van. Seems like the only way to make more money than dry van is to let the job take ALL your free time. We don't have much of a life out here, but I enjoy at least having a few hours to myself every day where I'm not at a customer and not worrying about whatever load I need.

I worked at Shaffer, I got miles but sooo much Northeast and heavy loads.. plus a bunch of crazy appt times that destroyed my sleep schedule time and time again.
Oh yeah and plus you don't get paid the time you wait in line to get a trailer wash out which sometimes was hours. Then because of long wash out lines sometimes I lost my load because of hours/cannot make appt anymore... yeah that was fun lol.

However again I made money there, pretty good for an OTR company driver but the lifestyle was hell.

IDK what good miles are for you, but I know I can do Dry van, burn most of my 70 in a week, never sleep at a customer and get over 3000 miles a week without working hard. As long as I'm using my hours, you can't get significantly more miles than me, maybe 200 max, but you worked your butt off for it unless your week was 2 1500 mile runs. Sounds like Reefer in general is for suckers.

Excuse me? Just because it doesn't work for you. Doesn't mean it can't work for others. I don't see how anyone could pull a flatbed. But more power to those hard workers. You enjoy your dry box and we will enjoy pulling your freight in our reefers. Lol suckers. I ain't never.

Woh, chill out (you see what I did there..?)! I don't see what you're so proud of tho. It's roughly the same pay, or less than dry van, for more frustration and less free time. What's the attraction..? Unless you're getting regular coast to coast runs, it's a bad deal.

I don't know about anyone else but I rarely ever got any long loads when I pulled a dry box. Almost always stayed east of 35. Lots of sitting. No thanks.

one thing I did love with reefer is cooling off on a hot day in a -20 degree trailer. that was fun
