My Int Prostar does not have the line hanging down over the driver door to blast the horn. Instead it has a button on the steering wheel right next to the engine brake button that sounds like a louder version of the city horn. Twice now I have accidentally beeped it when I meant to use that brake to slow down.

Yesterday I was driving downtown Austin and a group of teens including some hot looking girls start doing the chain pulling motion at me to honk. I felt bad because I could not pull it for them because the amplified city horn I have just sounds lame.

    Dinomite Thanks this.

I know, our older IH's were the same. A lame LOUD city horn. We now have freightshakers, and a REAL air horn. But I honk for no one just the same!

Fake it by pretending to yank the overhead cord.

When in doubt, fake it. Best advice from a female friend I ever heard...

I had a pro star for a sub truck while mine was in the shop...never again.

    Dinomite and jeepnut_nh Thank this.

I'm easy, I'll honk for anyone that asks. Even golfers getting ready to swing, provided there's not a car nearby that might get scared.
and the Prostar horn is embarrassing .

one time on a 2 lane highway in a small town in the south, a bunch of dressed up little black kids on the sidewalk wanted me to toot the horn.
I did, then I saw the funeral home sign. Oh well, I often wonder if I startled the deceased back to life.

The school day cab road trucks had the same 2 horn deal and you are right....lame!
I was out with a school trainer and an older guy did that pull the chain deal and I could not find the horn.
The trainer told me good thing as it is against the law to blow the air horn in the city.
Guess that is why it is marked City/High Way horn?

Bizarro! We traded our Shakers for Pro Stars, to everyone's disappointment. At least they've got the ISX instead of Maxxforce engines, so we've got that going for us. I always look forward to getting a sub because it's usually a Cascadia and the cab is as big as a barn compared to the Pro Star.
