I hope you realize you aren't the first to ask that. If you want the answer go read all the posts... I'm not repeating myself. Maybe you'll figure out I wasn't asking for such a dumb reason after all...

I kinda know what you mean crazy Yankee, I'll give myself more room than perfect middle, but if I'm angled wrong or not straight or over the line... I keep trying until I'm satisfied.

Why make a phone call to anyone? If the rest of the rest area is empty, just knock on the driver's door and let them know they can go legally AND safely park now.

I thought about that Ebola, really did. Someone else suggested that too and I agreed with them. My concern there happens when I hear these stories about guys who get ticked off at stuff and go off at nothing.

I hardly mind helping someone, and frankly made the posts here out of some concern for the drivers. (Among being curious and so on.). Just don't want to end up with a gun in my face or a dog on my tail... At that point though, they've made me fear for my own well being. By someone else's thoughts, that's grounds for police. Not sure what I'd do if it ever came to that...

Calling someone wasn't the only way to resolve this. If there is a "proper" and acceptable solution at all I mean. It was a poor choice of words on my part.

Im only annoyed by the trucks that park behind the parked trucks in the lane at the rest area and then trucks leave early and there is like 5 open spots but that truck is blocking the open spots.... and I gotta piss!! Lol

I parked in a no parking spot in WV at the Beckley service area last week. Thyere was no spots left and trucks were parked all over. i wasnt blocking anyone and i wasnt in the way....Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do.....

To the mods: not sure who reported that post, if anyone, but all the same thanks. It doesn't bother me when people resort to name calling. It actually amuses me. Kind of their way of saying, "You're wrong but I don't have a leg to stand on! So take this!"

If if someone has nothing to say other than petty comments... I always refer to a quote attributed to many, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.". I direct that at no one, but it's simply something I live by.

Do what you want with the above. Thanks! :)

I have had to do some creative parking myself, so I'm not going to say I'm without fault. However, before I pull my brakes and shut down, I make #### sure I'm not going to cause a hazard to anyone. If I can't confirm that, I find a better place or move on. I always leave enough time on my clock to get to the next best area.

Some of you may think that's a waste of time. I would rather drive a little more the next day at the cost of making sure I'm safe for the night and I won't cause any issue for others. That wasn't something my trainer taught me, it's just how I was raised.

Ok so tell me what happened last time any of you went and "knocked on a door" when a driver was asleep? I will tell you what happened last time I did and the reason I knocked was because this guys truck had coolant pouring out onto the ground under the truck while it was idling as he slept, he poked his head out the window and said "WTF you want?" , I informed him of his rapid coolant loss situation and I was told to "F off away from his truck" and he went back into his sleeper. Shortly after that his truck shut off and he came out to look. I was sitting back in my truck by that time watching him , you think I went to offer anymore assistance?
It's a good way to get told to F off or even worse in a dark rest area.

Yep. If it was as easy as knocking on the door I would've done it. Issue resolved.
