Oh, I definitely would, but there are considerations...

DD, you'll be ok. I don't know if GTI will be in the cards for you though. That's being honest. Just because of their license requirements, but there's other good carriers that will take you on.

Suggestions, either here or by PM? I'm making a list and checking it...

Hi all. Been reading this thread for awhile and there is a lot to be said good and bad for GTI. Well I am going to Indy for orientation on the 26th and hoping for the best. Will be dry van and hope they can keep me moving. I am not looking to get rich, I'm divorced and don't have much in the way of bills so I think I can get by with them, as long as I get some respect. Thanks to all that have been posting on here, I know as truckers time can be precious and it really helps having a place to go to research companies.

    Blu_Ogre Thanks this.

Feel free to add your thoughts about the company after you get through orientation. I am interested in hearing "how they are" from someone who wasn't really part of the transition.

    tow614 Thanks this.

I will give some updates about them after I get rolling with them, but like has been said on this forum many times and many places, what works for some wont work for others. For me it's not just about the money, its about the lifestyle of trucking. Don't get me wrong, I do love a nice paycheck though...lol. A lot of people complain about the direction trucking is going, I have been one of them, but really there is no other job like it. It gets in your blood and its really hard to do anything else for some of us so we deal with the government over site, we deal with the low pay and we sacrifice time with the people we love for the freedom that comes with the open road. Sorry got a little off topic I guess...lol.

No worries. Just remember that most people who post here are former GTI drivers and left for various reasons related to the Heartland Express buyout a couple years ago. My contact in the office says the transition is still transparent to the drivers, but since perspective is everything, I want to know what it looks like through the front windshield.

The Heartland take over is my 1 major concern with Gordon but from the website they seem to still be running as their own outfit. Trucks are still spec'd nicely at least. Just heard back from SEC this morning too. Wow. Now not sure what to do...lol
