I kinda beg to differ on that point.

Some people got it and some people don't and some people never will.

As of now I am still a wannbe driver but spent 20 years being a captain of small vessels running my own company. Being behind the wheel in all sorts of harrowing circumstances shook me but never rattled me.

A guy I sold the Biz to who was a good friend could never quite get it down even after years of running the boat.just did not have what it took that was all.

Hell my father is a perfect example of some people that are never gifted enough to have the knack. My dad brought me up on a 48 foot sailboat from the age of 5 and yet when it comes time to dock his small powerboat in the slip in any type of bad current he asks me to do it because he simply does not understand how to do it properly.

No shortage in Las Vegas NV, driving jobs are few and far between, anything that pays fairly descent anyway, so far I don't see any shortage, where does your friend live?

This doesn't support a driver shortage, if a company can't keep their drivers rolling, that's a company freight problem, not many drivers will be willing to sit of days

Sorry their will never be driverless trucks, Mercedes as developed a truck with autopilot, not legal in all state yet, Arizona and Nevada have agreed to allow truck on the freeways as of now, but there still must be a driver in the truck, even if by chance they do develop a truck that can do everything with out driver assistance, they would still need someone in the truck, computers fail from time to time, someone would need to be able to control the vehicle from with in
