Right now, I'm planned thru Saturday. Revenue for the week to that point will be about 3200. Gonna try to find one more to finish out the week. After all, the payments start with this check on 1/30. Been thru the house twice for lunch with the wife as well. I'm not hoping for the world, but this week is a real good example of how I'd like things to run in general.

Things are great right now. Be aware of them charging you for two weeks worth of payments. I'm happy to hear things are going well so far.

man, you got all day Sunday and all day Monday......you should be able to bust 4k with no problem.......
give it until at least Wednesday or Thursday before you commit (unless you find something really schweet).....most stuff doesn't show up until 1-2 days out.

    ew2108 Thanks this.

Well I closed the week out sunday i just couldnt find anything to keep me going that would take me into a dead end. Im at home until tomorrow evening. I think i'll get a reset in cook up some food to put in the fridge. I have a pallet load then a beautiful 3k pound load I'm hauling to Winchester for A duie Pyle. I'm looking now for a third load but i think i'm going to attempt the book as i go method And wait til tomorrow.

From my experience I like booking out well in advance. I'm usually always booked out a week in advance, sometimes 10 days out. Of course, if I find loads that meet my revenue goals that is. If not I'll play the waiting game. Like my last load of the current chain is dumping me off in Lawton, OK on Sunday morning. Not a good place to be at all but I couldn't resist the $2000 run into there that took up my weekend. I'll figure something out eventually.

My personal opinion is that the loads that are on the board well in advance (sometimes 2-3 weeks in advance) are one that definitely are not going to cancel. It's the last second indecisive procrastinator loads that all of a sudden request service a day or two before which are the ones that cancel. They could be desperate and double booking, they could have panicked and changed their minds, who knows really. But booking the loads well in advance indicates to me that the customer has their #### together and are organized.

I think the case could be made in either direction; my thing is, if it pays what I want, i book it. If I've got a couple of days to wait on it, I will. Always got something under me the night before my next delivery......that's my cut off.
The other thing is, you start to know the market and which direction it usually goes.....anything over $1.50 out of Tx with decent miles and to a good market; book it now. Anything out of FL over $1.25; same thing.....it ain't gonna improve. On the other hand, you can wait on Atlanta and Ohio. If you don't like what you see today, chances are you will tomorrow.

Same with 81 north of Front Royal to Carlisle and all of Turnpike New JErsey you can run into those places without a plan to get out because something will show up at a good rate.

    Welcome Dtech!!

I was gonna ask you why you would give yourself 2 full days to get to Charlotte, until I saw where you were coming from......man, that's a haul in a car.
But, the Charlotte OC is pretty friendly and the hotel isn't bad; you'll be fine. If you're gonna be dispatched (sorta) out of Charlotte, make sure you make time to go see the folks in the back. Rob is the boss of the bosses, and he's a good guy. Jessica is my ICA and she's top drawer. Marsha, same thing. The rest are pretty easy to deal with, and frankly, there's only one that I don't care for, but she usually only works the weekend. There're really a pretty good crew.
    Best of luck, and welcome.
