Atlanta by far is one of the worse
I hate I80 from the quarry's (Lansing Il) to Portage In
the trucks seem to think they are drafting
DFW is terrible mostly because of constant construction
I drive thru CA all the time think nothing of it

Dinomite, Blu_Ogre and ncmickey Thank this.

I'll be following you a couple hours behind up 75.

What at about that Ga 61N out of Villa Rica? I'm sure Red or somebody else who is familiar with can tell you if it's good road but according to my atlas it's truck friendly.

I saw that road too... im right there at 61... looks like it would be ok... maybe someone will chime in. Might save some minutes.... and a trip past the scale on 20. Im pretty light with only 27000 in the box.... im just alittle leary taking a strange 2 lane road in the dark to only save 10 or 15 minutes.

WOW!!! The comments in this thread keep growing like mushrooms after the rain... :biggrin_2554: I will need another 34 reset to be able to catch up with them all...

For now I'll post this... No muddy docking areas today.... but a small lot at receiver... not for big trucks... And snow and ice... :biggrin_2552: As I thought...
I am glad I left that rest area as early as I could this morning... Faced some light snow about 20 something miles from Denver and then it got very unpleasant...
This is where I delivered in Denver...

Had to keep tractor and trailer at an angle cause not enough room in front...

Thankfully I didn't take too long... I guess I am finally learning...

After empty left ASAP to next shipper... Parked at this muddy fuel station nearby before resuming my trip to shipper a little north of Denver.

Cleaned all the windows, mirrors, lights, DOT stripe around trailer...

All the roads in this metropolitan area are a COMPLETE MESS... :biggrin_25521: Have been hearing on the radio that several roads were shut down including highway 93 southbound at exit 72, US-6, etc, etc...
Huge back ups everywhere, 12 or 15 car pile up on I-70...:biggrin_2552: its a very slick and slow drive out there.... snow causing white out, motorists can't see the road, the lanes... Numerous accidents everywhere... Chain restrictions are UP...
And I am comfortably and safely parked inside customer's location.... right here...:yes2557:

Weather tomorrow will be better, no snow... and warmer... Customer will arrive between 9 and 10 am...
From here will head to NJ... again... And may take I-80.... but not before checking the weather going that way...

It's not a bad ride, but if you're doing it at night with no traffic/construction delays around Atlanta, it's a wash time-wise. AM or PM rush, I'd be on those back roads in a minute. About the only thing about cutting that NW corner is avoiding Marietta. A zillion stops and traffic just as bad as the freeway.

    FatDaddy and ncmickey Thank this.

It's the first time that I "heard" "takes the cotton picking darn tooting cake".... I guess it means, "wins the prize"... or something like that... However, what did the "nut" do? All I see is trucks passing in front of you...
    Oh well...
I gotta go cook something before I go to bed... and also check the weather on I-80... and also send a very important email...

    Dinomite Thanks this.
