Update: training has been going good. Driving a lot more now each day I get better. Only thing I need to work on now is my backing I keep wanting to turn the wheel to much tonight I backed into a dock without a problem that even my instructor had a hard time with the other day. Overall ain't to bad. Not much to update on should be headed back to Springfield in another week or so. I have to fix some things with Missouri DMV first apparently they never got my tanker test results from Ohio so they will not mail me my hard copy of my permit even though I have the tanker endorsement on my Missouri permit ugh.

Try putting your hands on the bottom of the wheel when backing. That way, two things happen: the trailer will turn in the direction you turn the wheel (turn left and the trailer turns left) and your arms have less room to move, so your changes will be smaller, which is the key.

This makes no sense to me... The trailer will always turn the opposite direction as one turns the wheel, when backing. If hands grasp the bottom of the wheel, there is MORE room to oversteer, not less.

    Perhaps I misunderstood your post?

ok ill call first chance i get tmw.

question: I read another comment on my own post, guy said prime wouldnt touch him because of unemployment. I have been out of work for a while doing some classes at college and an EMT Program. will this kill my chance?

Backing takes time to master it.Once you go solo you'll still have trouble at times and you get better with exp.Hang in there you can do it.

Either you did or you've never tried it. Visualize what I've said in your mind then come back.

The only way your advice works is if one stands on ones head. It's about the turn of the wheel while sitting upright, which is what most of us do, I assume. If you are able to drive while hanging from the ceiling, you are indeed an honest-to-God supertrucker. Lol
