if you was driving a reefer how do you know when to get reefer fuel

It's on the reefer tank.

figure about 1 gallon = 1 hour. Buy as needed. BUT well before you run out.

repriming a reefer...is a complete ###ch

 

I would at least look in it, and go fron there. They have a gauge, but it's a coin toss as to how accurate it is.

If I were going to fuel anyway, yes I would top it off.

 

.65 gallons per hour.Don't trust the tank gauge.It may work,it may not.Take a stick to the tank and see what you got.There's also a new program out there that once you buy the hardware and software you can be alerted to low fuel via your cell or laptop.So,you can do it the old way with a stick or high tech with an alert.I cut my grass with goats and the mower just sits in the garage.I save on fuel and their happy.

 

Reefer doesn't cost you a darn thing even if you were an owner operator. What's the harm in sticking the nozzle into the reefer tank every time you stop for fuel?

Had to prime a reefer once. Not fun.

 

How long did it take you LOL Bout a 1/2 hour? And could you feel your thumb when you was done?

Newbies beware: Lost prime means you're pulling fuel to the reefer engine, through about 25 feet of hose. Using a really small primer pump

 

BTDT, wasn't my fault though. Some a-hole dropped the trailer in the yard without filling it. When I came to pick it up she was bone dry.

 

that's my excuse also...

I've never pulled a REFER so I mean its my excuse if I ever do and run one out...

 

In the beginning it was easy. Then as more and more fuel started bleeding out, it started feeling like sludge.
