Jersey City can be a nag. Jersey 101.5 is your best friend for getting bridge closings and construction info ahead of your arrival. Fast traffic every 15 minutes. Thankfully there's a couple ways to get in and out of Jersey City.

OP, as with anything, experience will bring some familiarity, which will make it easier. Go into any new experience getting all worked up and you're setting yourself up for a highly stressful situation.

To many cars, not enough road... In most of the country I average around 63mph, in the Northeast, I average around 46mph, so it takes longer to cover the same miles. Docks can be tight, but to be fair, there are some tight docks on the West Coast too, Parking, you have to have a plan going in.

For me it is mainly the congestion.

All good posts here; it's a tough region to drive a big rig in but it's all I've ever done. Yes, it's all about attitude and awareness. Stay calm, let the bullies and the idiots go and think things through, watch your restrictions and try to have a back up route.

101.5 FM in NJ is THE best source for traffic and the morning guy is cool.

I used to take 53's into the heart of Jersey City, Newark, Orange, N. Bergen, Trenton, Philly, Balto., DC (you name it, I've been there) and there were times when I just wanted to stop the truck and walk home. Crazy roads, crazy places to get into, crazy traffic. But I kept at it and made it back safely.

I don't go to crazy places much these days but the experience was invaluable. If you can drive in the NE, you can go anywhere.

You are talking recklessly right now nd you can get trouble for that, keep it shut before they bring you in for a few questions.

You would be better served to have your posting removed. I too have a disdain for NYC and the Boro's, but no people so innocent ever deserved to be killed by a group of radicals. maybe you are lucky that no one you know lived there or was a part of your extended family, neither do I, but i would NEVER in a million years wish death upon an American citizen or group of people as you have just done.

To me, you speak anti-American, no matter your opinions which suck about 9-11

What I don't like how hard it is to find parking, especially After Walmart takes six hours to pull three skids off and you can't park in their lot. Traffic has to be timed, travel at night.
