And how about all the people that don't make it on the lease side. I highly doubt prime loses money on them.........

Prime got the frieght moved, sent the truck to the detail shop and the "leasee" pays the bill. Then they move to the next prospect .....

I think even you recognize that some people don't have what it takes to be an owner-operator. However the opportunity is there to be successful, many are, on their way to that goal. Leasing is just a step along the path. The OP is one of those successes, operating his own truck under his authority now.

That just means you were a lousy businessman, no disrespect intended. Good luck in you future endeavors.

As I posted, not everyone is cut out to be an owner-operator.

Why would anyone be here spending so much time trying to justify or defend a lease purchase plan scam with prime? ..... If it were truly worth its own weight the prime L/P would be selling its self!!!!
.... Whenever we see the author of confusion at work it's always time to"STOP" & be wise as to why there is so many twist & turns because there is definitely a devil hiding in the details....truth is those prime L/P nothing more than another L/P scam!!!!!
Or maybe I'm just another headache free trucks top flea that's not a so called businessman that's not cut out to marry a piece of equipment
that i happened to pay 3 it's value by the time I get thru all the twist& hoops, brother do you really call that success? and if so please keep it to yourself lest we start to laugh..... My advice is anyone considering any L/P stop and think out the reasoning behind it, my very first thought would be "why is this man trying to improve my world"?

It would be helpful if you'd get your facts straight. Its not a lease/ purchase deal, but rather a straight 3-year lease. You would be leasing an asset to generate freight revenue. Its only a "scam" if what's promised in the contract isn't delivered. They promise to provide a truck (they do), access to freight (that is also provided), and except for certain other restrictions allow one to operate their business as they see fit. So it mostly devolves onto the operator, becoming a test of their driving skills and savvy as a businessman. Either you have or you don't.

The misconceptions and outright untruths posted by the folks with a negative bent on life are things that should be addressed. After all, it only takes silence for a good man to perpetuate evil. A better question is what is it in a person that gives them so much joy to tear another down?

If your world needs improving, you'd best get at it. No one including myself is going to do it for you.

You can't run your own business as you see fit if a company is restrictions where you can fuel...primes fuel card is only open to their network.

One can certainly buy fuel out-of-network, albeit for cash. The question is, why would you want to forgo the corporate discount available on in-network stops? Its substantial, and since we pay our own IFTA tax we also get the benefit of playing off high vs low tax rate states.

Simply going to a mom 'n pop truck stop with a lower pump price than an in-network stop means you'll be paying much more for your fuel at Prime.

Don't be a chump at the pump.
