what exactly is so bad about running in the northeast?

Yeah they can write or spell their names but you can't, just saying crazy.

There are a number of areas that are just as bad to drive in as the North East. As far as the people in the north east go, they are just as friendly as any wheres else. You just need to keep in mind that most people mistake their tone/accent/blunt speech.......... as being rude or aggressive! When in reality, sounds pretty normal to another "north easter". Act like a tool and you will find them about as friendly as a prison shower. If you act friendly, they will go out of their way to help you with about anything. I have had more than my share of "frazzled nerves" trying to find some dock hidden away on some tight side street in Queens/Bronx/Jersey City/Boston. The dock guys were always glad to share some local knowledge in getting me back out to the thruways/interstates. NYC cops were always pretty friendly and helpful.

Yeah..... the congestion, tolls, tight streets, and old shipping docks can be a real problem some times, but I never found the people in the area any wheres close to being the "jerks" that many drivers claim them to be.

 

Well, I'm not about to disagree with someone that has been thanked 19,000 times in the 3 yrs that he's been driving a truck. BUT, in the ~9 yrs that I've driving ON, QC, NB, NS, DE, MD, VT, CT, NH, PA, NY, VA, I've only had to chain up to get out of a couple of a few driveways/parking lots.

 

I used to deliver meat to the city when I drove for Stevens. Western Beef in Queens. Melba Utica Packing in Brooklyn. The Gansevoort/Little West 12th meat market. Some no name place off Forest Ave in Staten Island. The Brooklyn meat market off of First Ave near the Army Terminal. And of course the Hunts Point meat market. Can't say they were ever the rudest to me. They were ######## to each other but cool to me.

I dunno.

What's a bear claw?

 

My father drove for almost 40 years doing what now days would be considered NE Regional. Not sure it had a name then. He would dabble a little to Detroit and Chicago but mostly all northeast. It was 48 foot trailers then. I remember him joking about some tight backs and taking an occasional wrong turn and needing NYPD to help him get out of predicament.

My brother currently drives from Syracuse area to the Bronx M-F on a flatbed dedicated job. He sometimes goes into Jersey and Philly. He leaves early in the AM to arrive before inbound rush hour starts.

It's just like anything else, if you get used to it, it becomes easier. Never as easy but easier.

 

They sell those at donut shops dont they?

Everybody that said its bad up here: cheers to you! Refuse loads coming up here from now on! There's no money to be made up here, there's all those other things that are problems to you, geez it's tough up here!

Ive heard that if you can run up here you can run anywhere. Idk that that's quite so true: I really dislike running anywhere other than here.. If I spend 9-10 hrs a day driving-staring out the windshield in high gear with no one else there trying to cut me off, no hustling trying to get loads on and off and make that next cutoff time....I'm bored and I'm frustrated. No challenge without tons of four wheelers everywhere, tolls to avoid, tight streets and tiny jobsites, good places to stop and eat & meet people from all walks of life, seeing people you know running around your own area & finding out if there's anything you can do to help them or their people...the list goes on and on.

I love it up here. If the taxes would be more affordable for people that work for a living and don't vote for a living I'd never consider moving.
