Ok. Wedding: done. Football: done. Snow removal: done.
I've got two weeks till finish with current job and start CDL school.
PGT has really got my eye right now. Another company is Modular Transportation that operates out of Grand Rapids, MI. Modular is much smaller and I know very little about them past their website, but their main terminal and office is only an hour away from me.

For any PGT drivers here, how are the company OTR trucks spec'd? I think they run Internationals. What about transmission, engine, apu, etc?
Also, is there specific securement training or is this only when driving with OTR trainer?

Well I'm dispatched out of the Poteau Oklahoma terminal here we have Pete 386's, international's and freightliner's as far as i know the freightliners are the only ones that have the apu... few petes are 9 speeds and the International and freightliner are 10 speeds.... yes there are secure training at the terminal as well as on the trainers truck... again this is at the OK terminal I think the internationals are mostly out of the PA terminal

I'm headed to Monaca on the 22nd. What did your road training consist of? I was told that. I would be doing orientation, securement training, and possible testing out at the end of the week.. If morning training was needed. I would be staying at the hotel another week and working with a local driver during the day... No biggie either way

I am very interested in PGT. I look forward to the physical challenge , as I like to stay fit. Does PGT have any female FB drivers now? I'm near the Trenton terminal so that is good.
I'll be new to FB. I've also spoken with TMC, Melton, and Maverick. I'm out of Maverick's hireling area, and Tmc is not taking on anyone in my area either. Melton is a possibility but so far I like PGT. any advise?

Its definitely a challenge doing flatbed but so far I've seen 3 female drivers but sure there's more... best advice um let see take your time and secure the load correctly... I've noticed that sometimes other drive will help you tarp and untapped your loads. Oh do purchase a 6ft latter.. to me the most challenging part that I seen was picking up and moving the tarp due to the weight but get the fork lift driver to sit your tarps on top of your loads would be another good advice... hope that helps a little.. good luck whichever company you choose.
