And roll-back protection that prevents truck from rolling backwards starting from stopped on a hill.

I've never had any roll-back issues with a manual transmission...

Suits me just fine. I've lived this long without setting foot on one, may as well continue on as I have been. Anywhere I need to go I can drive. At least that way I can take what I want with me, my luggage all arrives at the same time, and I won't be molested by government agents at check points along the way.

Really, you've never been? I'll admit, the airports themselves are a huge pain, but the flying is great. You have a better chance of getting killed on the way to the airport. I felt like you did until my kids moved to California, and I had to fly. On a recent trip to Colorado from Milwaukee, I sat down on the plane, read a magazine and was in Denver in 2 hours. If I drove, which I'll have to in March, I wouldn't have even been to Iowa in that time. Besides, if it goes down, it will be quick and painless. ( aside from the 3 minutes of screaming, of course)

Why, for that contraption to get anyplace me and my horse and buggy can go, they'd have to spend thousands of dollars just smoothing out roads.

Too expensive. Who's gonna pay for it? Taxpayers won't.

    Never happen...

I love flying. I just don't love that you can't get a whole can of soda or a full cup of juice. Lol.

OK I have a question for any of y'all that has a newer auto---
Can you select a higher gear for the truck to start off in--Ill admit--Ive only driven one(for a friend in an emergency situation)but that was over 10 years ago--but it was a very miserable winter trip thru the Pacific NW..But what I have experienced..is many drivers..especially mt or lite--in snowy/icy pkg lots etc--not able to get going--where a higher gear probably would have solved it---only recently I watched a driver in a newer Volvo--stuck behind a fuel island--couldn't pull up thru the snow when pump clear jus spinnin his wheels--told me nothing he could do--kinda skeerid him--when I backed up to his trailer and gave him a gentle push to get him going--but it worked--so seriously whats the deal w/these things?
