That's what makes it so bad. Millis lies to the drivers and says it only records 15 seconds before the critical event and 15 seconds afterward, it is then sent to a co. that then sends it to Millis.

What Millis doesn't tell the drivers is that the camera and microphone can also be activated LIVE just like FACEBOOK on your iphone.

We've all discovered that whenever the green light, shaped like an exclamation point is on, they are watching and listening live. If you read all my posts, which I dont expect anyone to do, you'll see various situations in which myself and others have been berated when there was no critical event.

Once I was driving down the highway, cruise on, nobody around me, I was bored so I was using a 10 pound dumbbell that I keep to stay alert. The camera had been on steadily for several hours. As soon as I start using the dumb bell, my qualcomm gets a message saying that I'm not to use the dumb bell when driving.

They get on our ##### all the time, claiming We're running red lights, when I'm not. It turns out you have to stop at a stop sign for 5 seconds otherwise the system doesn't recognize you stopped.

One Millis driver was in his truck, parked, talking to his wife. His wife was talking about using marijuana. BINGO !!! The driver was sent to do drug tests, 5 of them, during the next 3 weeks. He passed every one. ...and Millis claims they don't use the cameras and mics as spy cams. They explicitly say they will not record when the truck is stopped and they will never record you in your sleeper, another lie.

I'm not sure how many cameras they can watch at one time. It's probably like a Guard's office where they have one or more monitors, each of which has a split screen that can see a dozen or more cameras, per screen, at a time. For all I know, one person could be monitoring multiple screens with a dozen or more cameras (trucks) per screen.

I'm sure everybody here has seen those security monitors that can see many cameras at a time.

I just this week quit Millis. I stuck around because I wanted to get the best job I could find. I was holding my breathe though, cause any tiny mistake I made in front of the camera could have cost me a bad dac report.

I can't explain adequately, what a relief it is to drive without that camera pointed in my face anymore.

I now know what the celebrities are so pis sed off about when they have the paparazzi filming every thing they do, except even the paparazzi doesn't follow the celebs for more than a minute or two at a time. Millis will have the spy cam on you for hours at a time.

Yeah, remember when Werner was the only co. with e-logs. Now almost (but fortunately, not all co's. have them. Sad to say, but if We don't rise up, all the co's. will have the camers soon.

If the truck co's. are going to follow us like the paparazzi follows Jennifer Aniston and other celebs, then the trucking co's. should pay us as much as Jennifer and other celebs.

I quit Jbs when then installed their camera's.. The truth is the do listen to you and turn the camera's on at will..If you have another driver that doesn't like you, he can hit the button and record your phone conversations after goating you into bashing your dispatcher...I got a message for ya,if ya don't trust me,don't hire me...Or let me see what kind of drive you are when you leave your job....I personally think all dispatcher should see what changing a drivers sleep patterns do by having them report to work at 9 am one day then midnite the next note...just a dream of mine lol

Doing curls while driving seems super smart. Not so sure about that 5 "random" tests in 3 weeks either, seems like he should sue. Then again, I take 90% of everything you post with a grain of salt WIF150

From what I understand the cameras record continuously but only record when there is a triggering event. I would imagine that each carrier can set up their own tolerances for each event. They'll be things like roll stability, electronic stability, hard brake, sudden acceleration, depending upon other features it could be collision avoidance, lane departure, sensor spike, and the list goes on and on.

Managing the data can be a challenge, dealing with paranoid drivers is even more fun. To be totally fair the person reviewing any event needs to be totally impartial and look only at the events. Then they should contact the driver and get their side of the story. When you put the events as recorded and the drivers story together things will start to clarify.

When I was flying in the airlines the FAA wanted to install cameras in the ####pit. This was to be in addition to the Flight Data Recorder and the ####pit Voice Recorder. ALPA drew a line in the sand and said " Ain't no way boys, we'll shut it down before that happens". The FAA relented and took their ball and went home. Oh, those pesky unions!
