Does not state a GPS cannot be on the dash. If it does not obscures his vision, then it should be legal to have. -
In order for the screen to be visible to the driver and the windshield to be visible to the camera the drivers vision would be obscured to a degree in many trucks no matter how it was mounted.
I see so many 7" gps's on peoples dash they obviously don't worry about it that much though. -
In my jeep, I mount it in the center of the dash right above the radio. I have minimum viewing interference. A truck windshield is much bigger.
It is not 8" square. It is only about 6" tall and 8" across. -
After seeing the updated regs it seems fine.
(3) Interference with driver. No motor vehicle shall be driven when any object obscures his/her view more than minimally, ahead, or to the right or left sides, or to the rear, or interferes with the free movement of his/her arms or legs, or prevents his/her free and ready access to the accessories required for emergencies, or prevents the free and ready exit of any person from the cab or driver's compartment.Mark Kling Thanks this. -

Common sense would prevail. It is how you mount it and where.
-
Has anybody taken the jump and bought one?
