16 GB is pretty low. I bet with all rm apps you'll have less then 5gb for apps and performance. Also the chip is Intel pretty interesting.

I'll have to look again.. So far I haven't been fond of nexus due to reviews of others however HTC is brand I'll explore.. Purchased a HTC one almost 3 years ago ..ended up letting a family member use it.. Now the person won't part with it..

What I have reviewed in person has been up to 4.4 ..anyway ..its right around the next corner

Apples memory is different. 16GB iPhone or iPad gives you around 12.2GB to play with. And on android the same 16gb will give about 7gb or less. So yes big difference. And look at the current issue your having with the older GPS units they need a SD card to load the new updates. And the tablet u can run android of a SD card. So that means next year or 2 the customer will need to buy a newer device.

Notice that it not only RM that requires the SD Card. The maps grew in size.

RM did find an issue that is causing the problems. They are working on a solution. I posted this in the support thread along with a quick fix till the issue is resolved.

Somehow this thread has really gotten to the point of instead of seeking information about a new product to bashing RM again.

RM gets blamed for the new maps being bigger in size. All GPS devices that received these maps (not only RM) require an SD card. You spend $10 or more at MCD, yet buying a $10 SD card seems to be breaking your checking account. Did anyone Bash the other GPS manufactures about them requiring an SD Card?

RM gets bashed for a new product which nobody has one that has posted, yet all seem to know everything about it.

Any product will list the internal memory. The TND showed 4gb but only 3.6 of that was useable due to files and formatting. Any product that shows on board memory will always have less for the user than what is listed. With so many cloud based services around why would you save all on the internal memory. Did you go to Apple and bash them for not having 16gb on board for the user?

My wife has an IPad Air 2, 16gb with a ton of apps on it along with all her pictures and she has not ran out of memory yet.

I tried to help on this thread with information about the Tablet and got bashed because a user got upset I could not point him to info on the tablet. I asked what questions they had, they never responded. I did post a link a few days ago since RM released the link. I got another post about lack of information, but scrolling down the info was there.

I then got bashed about it being a dash cam also.

I then got bashed about it being mounted on the windshield.

If you have a valid question then I will answer that question. If you wish to BASH RM simply because I am the only one active on this Site that is here for support of a product, then I will not respond to your post.

i have an asus tablet running copilot.

    i have a samsung note2 running copilot.

having the screen lit up. tends to make the device warm alone. depending on the brightness.

at one point and time i used them both for dash cams using the daily roads voyager app.

throw in the heat factor from the camera being used. and those devices won't last long at all.

and since you have to have it in the dash somewhere. the sun beating down through the windshield will fry that baby before nightfall.

my copilot software is paid for. with all the free apps i need to do everything those more expensive units can do.
with any old no longer being used android device. i'm set for gps.

i have absolutely no reason to buy anything else. specially for the money.

Dashcam running does not overheat the unit. They are being testing daily via OTR all across the lower 48 and Canada. No issues with heat. I run mine constantly on my desk, no overheating with dash cam and rear view cam on. The only time it will get hot is when you leave it on and put it in a carry bag.
