Suggestions for Inexpensive / Entry Level Laptop .... NO bells or whistles ???

    Hi,

    Looking for information / suggestions regarding an inexpensive laptop. About all that I would care about "at this time" is internet access with a good aircard. How low can I go for something that still works ??

    Please share your recent shopping experience with me ... and others.

    Thanks for the info. My wife and I have had other Toshiba products and we have always been very satisfied. Will check those models out, both online and at our local stores. junipersage

    No problem, Toshiba makes a great laptop...
    If you plan on going with Vista my only suggestion would be to get 2G of ram.. It may cost more but your experience with vista will be better...

    I just got a refurbed 2007 Lenovo R61 with windblows XP on it. $346 mailed to the door.

    I have to go Toshiba. Have never gotten a bad product from them. Love my laptop, but they are not the cheapest out there. Acer is a good brand at reasonable price. Still like xp better than vista, but I don't even use all the features it offers.

    Definitely...check out Best Buy. I got my Toshiba A205 for $400 and it's been a rock...even with Vista. :biggrin_2556:

    I know a photographer that does aerial photography, he has a Toshiba, says that its bullet proof. Puts it in the wing storage when he's up flying around, says its never skipped a beat, even with the abuse it takes in the air.
