    I had my lease with ATS Specialized, and I hauled a little bit of everything. Crane booms, counterweights, farm tractors, trailers, steel, dozers, skid steers, trucks, street sweepers, O.D. HVAC systems, pipes, granite blocks, glass. If I could fit it somewhere on the trailer I hauled it.

    I drove tri-axle dumps and loaders for about a yr, then went OTR as a company driver until I leased a truck. And as you should know there is no "eden" in trucking. All you have is what you make of it.

    Maverick= RUN!!!

    I just left them after over a year and a half, and in that time they have went way downhill. Talk to 10 drivers, 8 of them would have been stuck out the previous weekend or not to long ago. The waiting time between loads is twice as long, sometime getting empty at 1pm and loading at 8am the next morning. Miles unstable, hometime unstable, and at the end of the day you're nothing more than a number on the side of the truck.

    Jayce, Why are you not unloading until 1 pm? I am generally empty by 9:00 AM and I consitantly get 2200 to 2600 miles a week. Getting hung out is a part of trucking however I've been home on Friday the past 3 weeks. Don't quite understand your complaint. Last I heard was you have to work for your money but some of you new breed drivers seem to think you should get paid without the work part. Don't mean to step on your whining party just want everyone to know the truth.

    Well; I am still there and I been back over a month and this is the 1st time I have been hung out since I rehired. They gave me 800 miles since I did not get home. My miles have been good and my hometime has been in on fridays. I got hung out, because my drop was not made till 3 pm. I got a late load and had 900 miles to go to drop. It is trucking. Sometimes you get hung out. No biggie, try going to a co that keeps you out for a few months. Pays you less than maverick. Then see how good you had it.:biggrin_2554:

    I saw both before I got canned. That I was running farther empty, taking longer to get loaded, got hung out a little more, or was home to soon cause of no freight. So I understand where he's comin' from. -Now that said, it is trucking....and you have to roll with whatever. And the company does pay well, make a real attempt to get you home (proably more then any other company), and if you do get hung then they really try hard to get you home the next weekend and run your ### off....as a norm anyway. I personally don't have anything negative to say as far as it seemed to me they really tried to take care of me the best they could while I was there. I did have a GREAT fleet mangr. the majority of the time I was there. So I guess as far as opionions go I can see both sides....but thats the world of trucking and I still think they are a good company to work for....and if I'm wrong about that (which I doubt)....I'm sure I'm right about this....there shur could be allot worse to work for.

    I am getting ready to retire from the Air Force in a month or so. I am going to try and get my CDL from Roehl using their Honors Program and then apply with Maverick. My question is this. How is business right now? What kind of miles are you getting?

    Thanks
