Yup that technology exist.. The problem is it must have electricity applied to it to align the molecules, that makes it transparent and your able to see threw it. Remove the electricity and it goes back to smoked out..

The problem would be the shear cost of the glass.. I would post a few here but that would be advertising.. take a look at how much they cost..
The second problem would be applying the electricity continuously.. Lets say you throw a belt and your alternator is not turning, the windows would need a power inverter for the electricity needed to keep them clear and you able to see out. Bamb you lose electricity and they go to smoke (remember nothing is perfect) Now your driving down the Interstate with smoked out glass blind as a bat with 80,000lbs..
Safety factor alone would not let it ever get passed..
Cause it takes electricity in order to make it transparent, lose electricity and it goes to smoked glass...

I already thought of that a long time ago when I first seen that glass on Discovery channel a long time ago.. Quickly ruled it out because it would never get Government approval due to the danger......

    Excellent points, TJ.
I guess it's back to the dreamin' board. :biggrin_25525:
And workin' on that left arm trucker tan.
    While the right is white.
Odd lookin' --- makes it easier to spot a trucker. Especially those runnin' mostly north & south. :sunny:

truckerjo,Your right. It may be a hard sell.Yes,I also thought of what might happen if the tint went from 30% to 100% while driving.I guess no worse than a white out or fog.Still would scare me to death. You also stated about a constant supply of voltage.I guess back up batteries could be used, seperate from the tractors needs.Much like computers use when there is a power failure.I think their called APU's.Your also right about taking a new product to market.Government, state approvement comes into play.I still think it can be done.I am sure we have enough qualifyed people in this country to make something like this happen, both safe and legal.Until then I'll just keep the sunglasses on.
