I have squeezed the male end of the power cord to the unit
to make it a lil fatter thereby a tighter connection
then taped the cord onto the dash to reduce vibration

I also have had better luck with 110 power sources then 12 volt

    southbaydad Thanks this.

Understand that, but as I recall, there is not a way to immediately "jump" a particular distance down the road (like the 300 miles or 4 hours figures I used in my examples.) I really don't want to be scrolling through pages of listings when I'm sometimes trying to locate a place that might be 300 miles away or more.

So Mark, is there a way to do this?

You cannot put in a distance, but this has been suggested. You can zoom out and scroll along your route, your miles will be in the upper left. Note the city and then do a search on POI's for that city.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Since the unit has wifi is there a way to do an update without the unit being hooked up to a computer ie: download the update then send it to the Rand unit or use the rand to "wifi" to corporate and download the update

like updating my iphone - just needs wifi

    That would solve my problem

TND models need to be updated via the Dock, Table via Wi-Fi.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Truck Tools > Timers > Driving Hours, set to 4 hours.

Then Choose Destination > POI > End of Day

Just a quick question....thinking about getting the TND Tablet. Is there a way to have my address book entries on my TND 730 transferred to the TND Tablet, and, if so, how? Would hate to reenter all of the entries (and some entries do not have addresses, just lat/long info).

That would work, but I would change it to 5 hours if you are looking for somewhere within 4 hours... hint hint.

    Thanks,
    mark
