Who really cares about navistar/cat built trucks? sdp was the worse and probably it will get more worser. There is no way they will make a return on putting cat on highway engines on freightliner, kw, pete, or western star.

Look at their tier 4 industrial engines, they are set up that way, given enough time they were able to produce a system that works, don't hear much about the equipment with the new engines.
-
If cat really wanted too , they could come up with a clean slate platform that would work in the OTR truck market. But honestly , I don't think they give a rip anymore. Hence the build quality and price of there reman parts nowadays. In my eyes there done ever being a contender in new trucks ever. Sad but true.
There focus is in the mining, forest ,marine and road building sectors. -
Also on farm equipments. I heard of challenger tractors having cat c15 and c18 acert engines from 410 hp to 590 hp.

I have a 2012 Coronado from Fitz and I absolutely love the truck,,,don't plan on ever buying another truck again. The only negative I can say about the TRUCK itself is that the wiring sucks!... I have light issues all the time and have already had to replace the ECM Other than normal maintenance items,,,it has been a great truck since I took it over Jan 2014 I suggest anyone looking to get a pre-emission truck, do it asap because I believe EPA will catch on soon and shut em down. I will have mine however and continue to drive it and get good fuel mileage..

I own a CT-660 and you are wrong. Cat does nothing on these truck but the transmission. The only Cat part is the auto transmission and yellow paint on the motor. Even the title says internation not Cat. They are opening a plant in the next few years to start to build them and will come out with a 15L motor then. As of right now you can't get a 15L motor and my Cat sales guy for the trucks said last year they had a meeting and one of the biggest questions from all the Cat dealers was when will they have a 15l motor again and they were told Cat was talking with both detroit and cummins on trying to come up with a option. This is why you see internation dropped the Maxxforce 15 because Cat bailed from it.russtrucker Thanks this. -
epa should be knocked down a peg or two there not lawmakers
DrtyDiesel Thanks this.
