In all honesty I doubt this will put PP under cuz people have short memories. But what is does do is show what kind of people you're dealing with, when things go for a crap they starting pointing fingers and lay blame elsewhere. That was my perception listening to the show Sunday.

Interesting "Track That Truck" FB posts (by author of Track That Truck):

FB user asks: " Have you decided if MicroBlu will be part of the repair process?"
TTT March 7 at 7:47am Yes the rebuild will incorporate all micro blue components.

FB User asks: "will the builder stand behind the rebuild?"
TTT March 7 at 7:51am These issues will be resolved over the next several weeks I suppose. Right now we are thoroughly documenting all mechanical issues. Our focus now is to get this engine built correctly and get back on the road. If all goes well the truck will be back on the road in about 7-days (including repainting the engine!).

FB user asks: "Has any determination been made on what caused all the corrosion?"
TTT March 7 at 7:51am Corrosion is caused by electrolysis.
TTT March 7 at 7:51am Not sure on the current engine ground. We are going to install a ground cable from the engine block directly to the battery though. This is at the suggestion of Jeff Szarley.

TTT March 7 at 10:08am We used Evans coolant for the first 24k miles. Upon Pittsburgh Power's recommendation we removed the Evans at 24k miles and replaced it with red extended life coolant.

FB user asks: "So was the wrong red coolant used?"
TTT March 7 at 11:18am We do not know what was used.

TTT March 7 at 2:53pm 3 intake valves were leaking. The worst lost 100 psi in 19 seconds.

TTT March 7 at 2:57pm We have gone back and reviewed the (oil) samples with the lab. None of the levels were high enough to cause alarm. Honestly I think this truck would have continued running until a head gasket blew due to the incorrect liner protrusion.

So apparently no word or updates since Sat, March 7th.

I find it incredible that they (whoever "they" are?) have already determined that "electrolysis" is the sole reason for the corrosion.
Did they even consider, or analyze the coolant to have been altered by chemical reaction? Such as from mixing 2 incompatible products.
But even more amazing is TTT owners, when asked about the red coolant, saying "We do not know what was used".

But... they are confident in sticking with the MicroBlue for the rebuild!

Honestly, I really don't expect for PP, KR, or the truck's owners to ever honestly and openly ever reveal the details of the actual problems found.
At this point, I believe the owners will still 'take the word' of those that have $$$ interest and reputation at stake, which I would call swindle job #2.
I hope PP & KR prove me wrong, but I really really doubt it... because any proof would have to come via a truly reputable/unbiased 3rd party investigation.

if I were the owners this is the way I would handle it.

1st I would call Detroit and make sure they a new remanufactured motor in stock, than I would find out where a Detroit Authorized shop is near and have the truck towed there.

Than I would call Bruce from Pp and Kevin and get them on a conference call and tell them it is being recorded. I would than state my demands.

1st I want a new OEM motor delivered to the facility i chose within 3 days, bought and paid for by them . 2nd I want the bill for the installation to be paid for in full. 3rd I want all extra monies that were paid for upgrades to the Signature motor to be refunded.

The old motor they can do as they please.

Than tell them I want a confirmation by Email within the next 24 hours to my requests.

if they choose not to go this route , I would hope they would have the money to do it themselves and get back on the road.

Even if they were out another 20,000 to start fresh they would be money ahead than pouring another 6 grand in parts into the old motor. The labor would be a wash between a rebuild and a installation.

Than I would get an attorney and go after the both of them for misrepresentation of the performance of their product.

All along it has been all over the place that this was a 9mpg truck. It never was loaded , and they spent many wasted days chasing that illusion.

So I would seek the full refund of the truck 200,000 not just the motor.

They having to go this route and if they simply stated what they were doing and what they offered on Facebook this would not be a Smear or Defamation issue.

If those 2 clowns don't take that deal they are not business men at all.

Months ago I was doing research and came acrooss PP and thought they were the cizzle.

Than I started digging around and came across quite a few comments where people were not happy with them and it started to plant a seed in me.

But Bruce's attitude on the show Sunday sealed the deal. i don;t care if their product is good or bad at this point.

So they're so smart, they are going to rebuild with mucho-blue the motor, get 9 mpg empty again and blame electronic water pissed reacted and contaminated the engine causing corrosion on mucho-blued insides??

Who else buys this snake oil mucho-blue?
I thought from the beginning when there were threads talking about mucho-blue axle bearings IT DIDN'T WORK, it was all on the tightening up of the bearings specs, heck it sounded to me like they were just loose.

Like post #297 above, I also used to think this gentleman Kevin Rutherford was a bad ##### and glad he was helping us on our industry, today I believe he's what every one else is saying and out to fit his wallet.

A friend won tickets to Mr. KEvin Rutherford's o/o class and I recommend him to go after he told me he didn't want to, now my perception of his "help" has really changed.
heck I even saw that "21" pocket organizer in a picture, the owners of the $200k "signature" truck bought from him, I didn't get where that thing cost any money, mine is way better and I'll glad as F**** will tell others how to do it.

FYI, micro-blue and coolant never meet. MB had nothing to due with this engine failure. I too believe it was electrolysis. I'd follow a simular course. The thing I'd be concerned with is loosing the warranty, but I truly believe Terry would stand behind his work, I've recently dealt with him and he was stand up, even thought things didn't go as planned, top notch person for sure.

I agree with you that the MicroBlue had no relation or effect re the corrosion.

But I wouldn't be 'sold' on the electrolysis theory until two things were tested first, before completing a build on the 2nd engine.
    1. Analyze the coolant to completely rule out any chemical reaction. (possibly from both coolants vs any block rust preservative coating OR red extended life coolant mixing with residual Evans coolant in block or coolant passages).
    2. Actually determine if electrolysis really exists by measuring current flow thru block/coolant. (I realize with 1st engine disassembled that test can't be done 'after the fact')
But it can be done on new engine to insure it doesn't harbor electrolytic current.

Sometimes the engine builder has to take one for the team for sure. I hadn't seen it so I can't say driver error or assembly error. It was posted 3 intake valves were leaking. I do know that damage from high egt's effects exhaust valves first so rule that out as a suspect cause if the exhaust valves aren't coned. I'm suspecting valve guide problems just from the rumors I see posted again I haven't seen it which may lead back to whomever remaned the head. As far as the liners it's hard to say if that's heat or shoddy machine work until you actually see it first hand. In the end to many new comers will be infected by the cool aid for this to matter thou it does suck for the owner. I'm no fan of either KR or PP really KR was just the sales man in the deal hard to blame him. PP gave the customer what they wanted per the sales man. It's hard for any shop to stand behind a custom engine 100 percent. With every change comes a give and take situation. So really in the end the customer should have been and be more informed about there truck to make intelligent decisions. It's hard to lay all the blame on any one of the 3 solely. I do feel 2 of 3 were making promises with no gauarntee's.
