I understand, I also would like to know what those parts are like now, after the engine heated up and electronic water corroded the block. would they rebuild with those same parts, or would they get new metals to have them mucho-blued again?

What was the advertised hp setting of that engine? Does any one know?

Dunno if they ever said the hp, but the torque was "estimated" at 2050 flywheel. A shame those PP guys don't have a dyno...

One thing I will say is if that head is that Corroded than the block is just as bad. it may not look like it now but all it takes is a thin spot in the casting and now the block is junk.
I have dealt with numerous saltwater cooled engines in my 30 years around the marine business and once corrosion is prevalent the end is near, seen it many times and seen many people take the gamble and lose.magoo68 Thanks this. -

White ash found on the pistons, would indicate elevated combustion temperature and pressure.
