So keep rolling, keep whoever stays around close, and whoever disappears wasn't there to begin with. At least it puts perspective on it.
    Thanks all.

If you are looking at trucking as a job, yes, your home life as it is/was is over until you quit or get a local job. If you are looking at trucking being your career, your LIFE has just begun and your home life will have to change along with it (when at home, I don't talk about trucking). Becoming a trucker changed my life for the better because I made it my career and I put thought, time and money in it. Decide what you want from trucking and move on with YOUR life. Good luck.

Yes, especially for people who have children. Father's start out with their children asking their mothers, when will daddy be home, to when is he comming home. Dad's go from daddy to HE.

Luckily I am single and have no kids. I know that makes it easier. I just didn't realize how much everything would change. I really hoped that when I was home, my friends and family would be here waiting to see me, not moving on without me.

I didn't think you were supposed to date them. I guess I still have a great deal to learn.

i'm regional, and truth be told when I get home I can't find time to do anything that I need to do. My family always has something lined up that they need me to do, I'm grateful to be included don't get me wrong, but it's a two-way street.

you're not going to be able to pick up your life right where it ended when you left on the road, as someone else said life goes on without you. Someone who is over the road can confirm this, but if you can meet each other in the middle then that feeling may not be as strong. I know that over the road is something I do not ever want to do, unless it's a last resort. I value my family, I value my off and Hometime, and there's not enough time left in anyone's life to be gone away from family and friends for that long.

    Just my two cents.

It's definately changing it. The problem is my sick and twisted brain loves otr life and at this point, if people don't wanna bend with my new life, sucks to be them. I do love my friends but this job has me set for life and isn't going anywhere.
