To clarify I meant owner op that's leased to a carrier vs having more freedom as Independent operator. Another question I have is, aren't there diesel mechanic companies who an Independent Operator can have agreement with to handle all repairs? Nationwide? Never know where you may run into trouble.

yes, they are called Dealerships...
but seriously, are there other nation wide businesses that you can contract with besides Dealerships? I guess you could contract with one of the big carriers to use their network of mechanics out of there terminals... I see that promoted as a benefit of leasing on with certain carriers... Diesel work at a discount as well as discounts on fuel/tires...MickTrucker Thanks this. -
