In the past 24 months 6% of our drivers were involved in a reportable crash. That includes all at fault and not at fault incidents. So one can only assume your dislike of fedex is based on jealousy or some other estrogen based emotion. Because it certainly isn't based on facts or numbers.

Now on topic, I'm glad you have found a decent contractor that takes care of you and pays you well, are you a team truck by chance ? A FedEx driver that I had the pleasure of chatting with up on Cabbage in Oregon why he waited for a tow truck at the rest area "Engine issues, Not a wreck" was making .40cpm and your pay seems well above that. The reason I bring up being pushed to run is his boss would get "Fined" as he put it from FedEx if the load was late or delayed in any manner that in turn would have the driver worried and push to him drive. (Lets face it we all work out here and none of us want to worry about a pink slip)
Maybe he was just unlucky and or had a bad contractor, Same with the dudes I see all winter long in a ditch or spun out along any stretch of I-84/I-80 from Portland, OR. to Cheyenne, WY. up around Sherman and Elk. TBH I don't know as I don't work for FexEx and really have no interest in taking my truck anywhere near them. Tho I will admit I'm happy for the ones that have found decent contractors, (Like you have) but the good ones seem to be in the minority at least the ones based up here in the North.
Anyways as we both don't want to get stuck in a circle debate, It's just my opinion just like everyone else has and ill let it stand at that. Glad you found a good contractor and hope the OP takes note and takes care of his drives just as well.

Would I have to paint my truck white though?? -
And as far as striking a nerve goes yes you are right. I'm tired of a bunch of know nothing steering wheel holders assuming crap about me based on the carrier I drive for. It would be one thing if the numbers were on your side but they aren't. Our safety rating and csa score are well above the national average. I've been driving for 13 years. Only had one accident when I first starting driving and it was minor. I help my fellow driver out whenever they need it, something most of the rest of you certainly don't do anymore. I've drove vans, flatbed, tanker, reefer, heavy haul, doubles and triples in all weather conditions in all 48 states. I don't know it all. But I do know enough to know I have a lot more experience and training than most in this industry. So instead of judging a carrier based on 6% or less of its drivers try just judging the individual.dancecanyon, seebell6203, X-Country and 3 others Thank this. -

Short and sweet answer. Not bad. Could be better... Depends what your looking for. Top dollar ? NO easy work? No touch all drop and hook. Doubles? Most of the time. I run trucks there and have my own authority so it's a nice mix for me personally. It all Depends what your looking for man best way I can put it. It's not bad money though. Not great but not a lot of headache.
