The other thing to remember about rep points is the more rep points that a member has the more points it takes from you if they red dot ya. in other words the more green they have the more it will hurt if they hit you.
Moderators for example have TRIPLE the rep power of regular members. If you get a green dot from a Mod it really boost you rep points. however if a Mod gives you a red dot it puts a major hurt on your rep.
Blue dots??

Life's too short to worry about pleasing everyone you meet. -
It's obvious to me that you don't ruffle that many feathers, I have read your posts.
I have gotten positive points from people that I vehemently disagreed with most of the time, I found ways to say things that people would laugh about and then think about. I also don't whine to the Moderators, I never liked it when I was a Moderator at a different site, and that one had nothing to do with trucking. It take all kinds to make the world go around, and I enjoy this site while remembering that fact. -

that being said, I can be an &^$ hole and say boneheaded things from time to time. I have come to "know" a few people around here and they're like good friends who I expect to call anyone of us out out when any of us do or say something stupid.
I don't stay up nights worrying about the red dots but I do value the opinions from those who have "Gone down that road before". -
Is there somewhere that explains how many posts you need to do different things? I am new and have very few posts, but I see y'all talking about dots....where are they? How many posts do you need to send a PM? Do the friend requests work like other social networking sites? IE you have to have permission to add them as a friend? Thanks for anything you can fill me in on.

YOU need 50 posts to send pm's.
ALSO If you go to the USER CP at the top left of your page and click on that and go all the way to the bottom of the page, you will see your Rep points which are dots. THESE are given my members for good posts to others or can also result in a DISAPPROVE post as well.
When you read a post, there is a white weigh scale thingy top upper right of each post.
YOU click on that and either approve or disapprove someones post, and give an explanation. -
Thank you!
