Calling out the COLOSTOMY BAGS

Eh. I know it's easy to spot a newbie...so it could've been just something to shake me up. When I get tired, I over-estimate angles and close too quickly. It's hard for me to resolve with my experience level. The way I know to counter it is over-estimate my remaining space/goal.

...the WORST thing you can do is move your #### truck while I'm backing. It not only startles me, but it breaks my focus to, "what are you going to do?"

He claimed I was going to rip his mirrors off, but if you've got enough space to pull straight up, then it makes me wonder if he was just being an ###. Not to mention, that mirror? It's already busted up and tied onto the side of his truck. But what do I know? I'm a newbie.

A lot of these drivers forget that they were worse at backing at the same point in time of their career as you are now. So they're just jealous that it took them 10 years to figure it out while being stuck at Western Express while you're already making progress.

 

What's this backing thing y'all speak of don't you just pull into fuel island and park. I do.......lol pay no mind to anybody who gives you a hard time they don't deserve your time.

 

Exactly the reason why I took out my CB radio. 99.9% of the time it's one of three things being discussed, trash talking about other drivers at the truck stop, trash talking about politics or trash talking racist comments from all directions/races. The .1% of the time where it's useful is maybe at an old school shipper that actually uses CB still (grocery warehouses seem to be on them more than most) or if there is an accident that drivers are being informative about. Just not worth the investment for me.

 

Well, I got mine as a gift. to me there's the rare, but informative conversation about politics, I enjoy talking to others especially about adverse opinions. I'll always show an open mind and I love it when another driver does the same. The rest I stay out of unless it's traffic. I have made lots of friends in traffic when I'm on the cb. Usually I'm letting people into my lane so they aren't stuck trying to move over when it's too late...

I don't always keep mine on though.

 

Best thing on a CB RADIO is the on / off switch , nice to have the radio when you need it but its not the law or a TRUCKER 101 requirement you need it turned on all the time

 

I know. I had mine on monitoring for traffic from that bridge collapse out on i35. Not sure why I didn't turn it off once I was out of that area though.

Sometimes the thing goes quiet and I forget it's there until someone yells into it.

Im hardly complaining about it. It's been useful. ...just not sure why it is that some have to feel like they've got big kajones or they've gotta be big man on campus. It's a mystery. (Not really.)

...oh god. I learned that one the hard way. I had my 3 points alright. Until I stepped onto a curb and my ankle gave way. My 3 points then consisted of my ###, one foot and my back. 3 points is VERY important.
