You're right, everyone in ND for the past 10 years has been working for min. wage, it's a big conspiracy.

You think those ND farmers aren't happy to see it go bust? They been ######## the whole time I was there about all the dust from the traffic on the lease roads killing their crops! Some were even blocking the roads on their tractors with shotgun in hand, had to call the police to get rid of them. A bunch are bitter because they sold their mineral rights long ago and are not benefiting from the oil so they are just nasty towards oilfield workers. They can keep farming all they want, ND is a wasteland though. SD has much more going on for itself. but the whole central part of the country is pretty much just dead waste. IMO -
UKJ Thanks this.

For those that were there, and those that are STILL there, it's a job I know I wouldn't want. Oh sure the money must have been good, but to pay what nearly $600 a month for a patch of land for an RV?
Uh-ha, not me. But for those that made a few dollars, if they think or thought the money they made was well worth it, so be it.
In my mind, that money was not worth it for the conditions I would have been working in. My living expenses here at the house I own, food, and whatever else I need are close at hand, and the hours I work now are great for me.
But those that put up with it before and still do?
Good luck to them, I wish them well. It is still a job and conditions I'd not want for myself. -
Was $800 a month for RV spot last time I was there, Value Place had an awesome long term deal of $99 a night or $2772 a month. It does have an electric top stove so.....WORTH IT!!
If you go out there without company provided housing, good luck! Rates are supposedly going down, but not sure how low they are, they were hyper-inflated still when I left.bzinger Thanks this. -
Well, someone is making a killing.
The stores
The land owners
