No arguments here just making some points. Just saying the guy legally isn't doing anything wrong.. So he can't be dumb...

I do agree common sense is missing.. While he technically isn't doing anything legally wrong.. Protecting the straps from side swipes def is way better for sure I don't disagree with that.. Like I said when I was flatbed I did put them on the inside unless situation didn't allow for it...

Peterbilt_2005 - I do agree flatbed should be held to a high standard.. You for the most part don't have sides to hide your load unless it's tarped.. You don't just close doors and go.. You much make sure it's safe and looks appealing to the general public.. I did it and I know what it's like so I respect the work you flatbedders do on a daily basis.. This is why I am on the thread cause I miss flatbedding and I like checking out the pictures of loads.. I'm a waste hauler stuck in a flatbedders body lol....

BigJls - I was just bugging you about the spelling errors we all make them.. It's the internet not an essay going to the professor haha ... I hate spelling internet nazi's as long as it's close and I (we) understand it who cares lol... Typing on the phone making post is hard enough without having to worry about spelling ;) ... It's funny. Common sense really isn't so common.. You can be the smartest book smart person there is but still lack common sense it's unreal... Flatbedding requires common sense..

As west-coaster pointed out some equipment will not allow for inside rail strapping and some loads will not allow for it either.. I have pulled trailers with fixed winches and lo and behold it's right where a rail attachment point is.. So I have no choice but to run it outside...

Now onward with the pictures... especially the non-tarped loads..

05, did this load of cable come from the Okanite Plant in Santa Maria, CA?

  6. Ya. Okonite is on the reels. They have dumped tons of loading crews. They only have one loader and one nailer. We had 6_trucks lined up at 8am. Took an hour and half per truck.

    truckdad Thanks this.
  7. I thought it was hey mom. "Bend over the radiator". I need a drink

Thanks 05, I lived in S.M. for 50 years & I thought Okonite had another plant in TN or somewhere back east.(thot I recognized the trees in the background,LOL) I hauled a few forklifts in & out of the plant but I couldnt get into the cable hauling.
