Well gashauler would tell you that nobody is left from the big leagues, that sentinel is not unocal and tesoro is not arco. but what do newly hired "arco" drivers top out at? and sentinel?

The end hahaha I doubt it we are so darn busy it's ridiculous and we have to cover a lot of the common carriers in times of need since there turnove rate is ridiculous.

Cali kid what would you say a 1st year sentinel driver would make in a year on average, and what would they make per year when topped out?

1st year driver doing an extra 5th day every other week will do about $3000 gross every two weeks and it's totally up to you. You could work 5 days every week if you wanted or there are a few that like even more but it's all what you want to put in, and on the other side there's no pressure if you want to run just 4 days on 3 off that's cool too, they are huge on safety. Topped out would be well over $3000 with the stated above and then you still have the safety bonus every year which is up to 5% of yearly gross. Just make the move already lol

    Miguel562 Thanks this.

The end of the majors are gone. No more overtime to make a big paycheck. The days of 4 days on 3 days off based on a 10 hours work days are gone. Most of the drivers were at a point where they could take a golden handshake from the company and go on some type of retirement. Then the company that bought out the terminal just turned around and hired the old ARCO drivers to continue with the work. The trucks were different and the pay package was changed but some just changed uniforms and came to work. That what happened in Las Vegas anyway. ARCO was gone and COOL was there. I don't know what kind of preference was given to the ARCO drivers over the COOL drivers but I did hear that the drivers were in the contract when ARCO left. From an ARCO driver I do know they took a drop in pay by a couple of dollars per hours but the ARCO drivers that did stay (WA, OR, NoCA also took a drop in some pay with the company) did not have it so good either. The last thing I was told is the north was different from the south and would stay BP/ARCO. You still have drivers making close to if not over six figures and only working 60 hours a week. Now if they do work 70 hours a week then I would say yeah there's plenty of drivers making the money. They all work the same shift assigned for a year so the driver knows where the overtime is. OT is where we made our money. The last I heard was $23.50 straight time back a few years ago. With no extra pay that's $48,888 straight pay. When I went to work there it was $40,000 a year straight pay and I brought home on an average of $80,000 a year back in 1992. Like I said OT is where the money is and I don't know how it's doing now.
