I need some help. I've done a lot of different work, welder, heavy eq. operator. driving truck is the only thing I've enjoyed. I'm having a hard time finding a local company that have nice trucks and take care of their drivers. Not saying I need a totally decked out W9 or 379 but in my eyes if its gonna be the office I sit in every day, I'm gonna what it to be a nice rig. I would like to stay close to home for the most part (wi) but I'm willing to make west runs ( dakota's Wy,MT) don't care what the pay is I will not go in to CA or run the east coast no desire to be there.
I'm sure there are a lot of things that effect the pay but what is a good pay for O/O's? hopper bottom flat bed? I also what to know what would be the best "starter truck" I was running a 04 379 with a 550 c15 with 8inch stacks and 320 wb. super nice rig. I also would run a 11 Kw t800 with a cummins
thanks for the help.

Honestly there is no money in o/o work. I see guys bragging about 70k. Okay but with a good record and a few years under your belt you can easily sign onto a company as a company man making 70k with 80% less headache.
Anything less than 100k as an o/o doesnt make financial sense, in my view.kimbosa Thanks this. -

Quite a list for a company driver. You might want to rethink.

Buy a truck older than 2002 no EGR, for less than $25k and lease on to a carrier. You'll run where you want, pick your own ride, and can stay as close to home as you want.
