Your going to run a trailer tire on the steer axle?

It says can be used as steer in low wear rate conditions? What's that mean?

Yeah -- it is an all-position tire that is not recommended for drives. Free-rolling position, I guess?

But I'm not opposed to experimenting: when my xone line energy d tires wear out, I plan to have them capped with trailer tread and put back on the drive position to lower RR even more (at the expense of tire life & traction).

It means they won't last long: 14/32 tread depth vs 19/32 for XZA3 Evertreads -- 10/32 vs 15/32 usable or 33% less (offset by a much lower purchase price: $250 vs $600)

I've got Firestone's FS591on steers and close to 70k on them, wearing evenly should get 90k before new set.

Not bad, get both steers for less than one regular steer tire, and some better rolling resistance to boot.

Thats a great idea. Round trip tickets are usually pretty cheap too.

So you're running around 55mph to achieve that? What gear and rpm is that? Also is your turbo the stock one or has it been swapped for the non wastegate version?(BW 171702)

    ~55mph in direct with 2.64s -- 1275-1300 rpm. Stock turbo & 370 horsepower tune.

Thats on flat terrain and light rolling hills right? How do you drive in mountains like I-81 from VA to TN like I was on the other day? I've always had the mentality that if Im going to get crap fuel mileage I might as well make good time so I roll 70+ on stuff like that lol

    Climbing hills I use 250hp in 10th (direct) and bleed speed/power down to 200hp @ 1100 before downshifting to 9th at ~1500 @ 250hp and bleeding down to 1100 @ 200hp before shifting again... On a prolonged 6% grade pulling 80,000 lb, I'll wind up in 7th at around 1400 rpm, 30mph, & maybe 225hp.

I rarely use all 370 horsepower.
