I have friends that work for both. But. Saia seems to be the best on my side of the country. Not sure where you're at. I'm in the Northwest.

Idk. Saia is mid twenties OT after 8. Linehaul is mileage plus hourly for non driving duties. I hear Estes lacks quality pay in Linehaul but p&d is respectful.

I worked at SAIA for a few years, I did both city and linehaul. I just passed my 90days at ESTES,Im a city driver but I do line runs sometimes too. Both are great companies, you cant go wrong with either one. BUT from my experience with both companies, ESTES is a better choice. Estes system is more driver friendly, also you can earn more money per mile and per hour at Estes. But at SAIA they pay overtime after 40hours and Estes pay overtime after 48hours. The medical benefits and different insurance policies is pretty similar, not much difference.

Estes earn more than SAIA. SAIA pay 19.20- 23.10 per hour 46-55 CPM ESTES 21.40- 25+ per hour 49- 57 CPM

I worked for both on extra board. Go with estes. Estes top pay is .60 now. Saia's is like 57 or 58. You'll get more miles at estes. I can run 4 days at Estes and get just as many miles as saia working 5. Saia pays delay pay, estes dosn't except for breakdown after 1 hour no matter where you are, but it's like 75-80% of hourly. Saias was full hourly after 1 hour at a terminal and after 2 hours on the road. Saia pays better to drop and hook and you get paid for it each new dispatch except the first one. Estes pays if you break or hook a set, but they usually have them hooked for you. That means more miles. At Saia, you have to hook 99% of your own. Saia makes a big dang deal out of little thing's, estes don't. Estes is more laid back, easier to work for and don't rush you like saia. Most of saia runs are at night. Estes is bigger, has more freight therefore, you're more likely to run days if you want. Saia is more about the numbers working out instead of doing things out of practical since. Estes central dispatch have it together better. Some of Saia dispatchers are A-Holes. I worked for saia over 5 years. I wish I made the switch sooner!
