Yes! you can buy a 2011 cheap with EGR issues and get a reman Detroit 12.7 and pull loads without issues!
-
Anything is possible with enough money, although if you do the swap, the truck won't be legal in CA.

yea i run autoparts either to michigan or montreal. but what do you guys think how much it will cost or whatever? and what truck do u prefer. im thinking cascadia but if im gonna get a truck pre egr why not get a cheap dpf cat motor w9 or 389??

Wiring is very similar on truck side. Swap pins 11 and 21 for fan. This is for 6nz 70 pin, if you plan on using older 40 pins you will need an adapter or lots of wiring patience. Lot more issues to think about if you buy a truck with cat and try to put a detroit or cummins in.
