I dont have out riggers. 102" step deck.
There was a farm sprayer went to get once and could have really used outriggers. They wanted to set the axles up on dunnage with the wheels hanging over the sides. I was ok with that until I measured the over all width at 15'4. The rate was only $2.64 mi. They didnt want to pay for pilot vehicle so I had no choice but to cancel.

MJ I had to piece together a military load with a hydrant load to get out of florida. I definitely feel your pain with $&@# loads.
MJ1657 Thanks this. -
This was my "get out of Florida free" load. Also, never knew about the 41' rule in Florida untill the other day. Luckily this trailer which is the company's was 51' not 53.

I was east bound. Maybe thats why I got lucky. Who knows. I will be more prepared next time. You guys do these loads day in day out for years. I'm still learning the rules.

For $20 you can get an annual permit for trailers with axles over the 40' rule. Mine is 41'. Never got hassled for a long time.. then one day guy steps out with a tape measure. $60 or $70 fine IIRC. I have the permit now. Can be done online.

Hurst that's what I was planning but measured and said screw it. I'll get it if I do it again, but i don't like pulling the 53 footer anyway. Load just paid too good to say no.

BTW, Florida gives you 44k on a tandem. Didn't know if you knew or not.Battle Born Thanks this.

OK. I need to vent. "Different subject"
Im bidding a wide load, ya I know its not that huge a 10' wide. But I felt my bid was fair. And the broker takes the load back because he found a truck for half my rate. His rate wasn't even able to cover fuel.
OK. Done venting.... "Grumbling... Rat... $%#%# , cheap ##-# freight"Offender, Cetane+, tsavory and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's happened to me so many times already in my short time as an O/O that it doesn't even phase me any more. There's guys out there taking 65-70k lbs loads for flatbed rates, it's rediculous at times
