Hello guys, need some real advice. Ez pass sent me notice that I owe them $54. However, I haven't used EZ pass but it was inside the truck when I was training. It was my personal EZ pass and forgot about it. And the only notice I got was the collection, They did send statements but I didn't check since I never used it. Any advice how to move forward? I was going to go to the company and get a statement for my trainers, hoping to prove I was not the one who used it. (Time stamp on statement.)
My credit is shot already from 5-6 years ago when sprint sent a bill to collections for $60. I don't want my credit to get worse, its in the low 600. I was going to buy a cheap new car later this year just to help rebuild the credit. (~15k) I just need any help I can get, and being out on the road, I don't have much time on my hands. Thank you all and have a safe trip!

why not just call up the collections company and pay them the 54 bucks?

Was wondering if ezpass can drop the collections? Or does it not work that way? Or is fighting not worth it? ... sigh. All ezpass told me was that once I get proof, they can reimburse the toll fee. But the collection will still remain... that's my main concern. Got no problem paying, but what can I do after? I disputed my sprint collection a year ago to 1 credit bureau and they dropped it. Its still on 2 other ones. It showed that the collection was for $300, while it was for only $60. I still didn't call collections so I can have proof I didn't use it.

Why did you have your own personal EZ pass on the truck in the first place? You had to know that the truck would be going thru toll booths.

How can it be "inside" the truck and still get picked up. I had mine in bag when I moved a truck and it never registered at all, the bag was on the floor between the seats.

Yes that was a stupid mistake... but its been in that bag for months. Thought it would be okay and I did take it out when I got home.

Mine was inside my bag on the top bunk.

id just pay the $54 and chalk it up as a lesson learned.Arkansas Thanks this.

$54.00 is minor, pay it be done with it and learn from your mistake.

That's what I did with the sprint bill. But I never received letters from both of them and never received a phone call...
