Headed to Sumter SC to drop one at International Paper then deadhead to Hickory NC. Easter plans spooched by clueless dispatch so taking tomorrow off. Getting truck looked at while in town.

Kamikaze run to Beloit WI due tomorrow 0900. New dispatch team has been running me so hard I literally don't have much energy for writing/blogging/pontificating these days. Quick update: Hot Chick is off the truck for a few weeks visiting her parents. Daughter coming home from college end of May, Hot Chick will spend summer with her in Indianapolis (job and living quarters obtained, working on car). I'm running around 3000mi/wk which doesn't sound like much but every run is TIGHT and CRITICAL and shippers keep spooching my trip plans with 2 and 3 hour live loads, sometimes more (that's what happened on this run). Income is around $1200-$1500 after all expenses and payments. Olaf has a weak battery and some turbo plumbing is starting to work loose so headed to Morton IL soonest to get it looked at. Finally, I'm going to have to break down and buy another GPS, perhaps a Garmin this time, as the QComm unit, while accurate, locks up with depressing regularity and I have no way to update it.

Made it through Chicago last night. Sitting at truck stop about 50 miles from receiver with a load due by 0900. Then it's back east to Pleasant Prairie to hook one going to Allentown by Friday evening. Likely going to grab a 34 Saturday night.

 

Got held up 3hrs on this critical load by the shipper, then lost a bunch of time en route due to traffic (hit Cincinnatti metro at start of rush hour). Aced it anyway. Quick shower then load in Pleasant Prairie will be ready, then off to Allentown.
