Hey mannmk7 ,
I hope all went well for you at the Job Fair.
I went to the job fair for Mineral Park and the construction co.myself.
I had obtained the applications on line and already had them completed along with short summary style resumes.
The first first day I stood in line for for about 2,2 1/2 hours and could not believe what people show up looking like for a possible job interview. I am not talking even semi casual. This 18-? age needs to go and take some of those self esteem classes they made us take in high school LOL.
I was finaly interviewed by the Mineral Park rep. and was told further interveiws and testing would be in approxamatly 4 weeks for equipment operators. They have REAL REAL BIG equipment and need operators.
The construction co. needs alot of different trades and crafts but those jobs are only going to last about 6 months to a year but pay is great if you have any skills in the construction trades. The rep. from Schmueser said they will contact for further interviews next week.
Both co's will continue to take apps. by e-mail, fax or snail mail.Check here by searching: Mineral Park Inc. or Schmueser and Associates.
Schneider won't except AZ students, got any ideas

Excellent question.
My wife and I really would like to go on the road. No rent and of course no utilities, nor gas for the cars. We had plans on putting everything in storage. However I have "NO RECENT OTR EXP" Pisses me off because I had 13 years running the East Coast & Chicago all over the country in fact. But also my wife is getting her CDL at the end of this month and we have a dog that we will not leave behind. She's from the Rin Tin Tin blood line. So the odds against us runnibg the road together are about slim to none.
We both like the Golden Valley area so living over there is really not such a bad option for us. If we can find work. I have five years running an end dump, and also can load myself. I am NOT an OPERATOR, but I have loaded myself with a 966 cat as well as 980's. So if I were to find work over there, we would probably jump on it. She will have her CDL "A" at the end of June, so if we were to move over there hopefully she would find something like a 10 wheeler. P.S. she does have water truck exp. So as I said, we are open to that as an option. We do want out of Vegas!!!!!!!
I'm waiting to hear from one company in regards to a road job. Things are going slow in that aspect We were figuring on running our ##### off for five yrs and banking the money and buying our house outright. But things are getting tight here and we have to do something soon. I'll be watching your post as you are there and have more acces to info than I do. Just Yahoo me if you could. Would definitly appreciate it -
If I here of something in the dirt work I'll write you.
Oh, something else, there are a number of truck depots in are area you may want to look into them. If you are evetually going to buy anyway and you like GV area you might think about them. Property is cheap now and probably for the next year, in 5 years it may be a very different story. The companies are, IWX, FEDX GROUND, IWX, SWIFT, AND I believe CFI.
Kingman seems to be somewhat of trucking center.
Good luck
Happy Trails
PS Read IGM's post just above he's written a good picture of the mine and const. work I was talk'n about. Yo can apply on line. Remember what I said about the enrty level jobs, you could buy a house on just that much money, so with your equipment experiance you should do much better. This area may boom and you may want to be in on it. IGM said alot of people applied but they probably won't get or keep the job.Last edited: Jun 4, 2008

When they interviewed me they put civil on my app. Did you here anything about the pay. I heard entry level at the mine is $12.00 an hr. not bad for entry level in this area if it's steady. Skilled probably pays about $15-$17.00 an hr.
Ya, we might have past each other, haha.
Thanks -
Did you give me one of those little green dots, too. I hope so. I wanta be like you some day. hehehe
Oh, ya your land is still there.LOL
If your think'n about moving to Kingman you may want to start thinking about it. Property is really coming down and as I have mentioned taxes are so low. I lived in CA, moved 2003. What a huge difference in taxes. You can pay a whole house payment for what you pay in taxes in CA. -

That's what we are waiting on now. I ahve been in contact with a company that will send me out with a trainer for a few weeks in order to learn their freight lanes and paper work and what not. Then they will allow me to train my wife.
Believe me I realize I have to just accept the "no recent exp" part and use my past exp. to my advantage. I have no problem with that. I just want to have a backup plan in case it doesn't work out. The economy sucks right now as we all know. Fuel is crazy. I got gas yesterday for $4.03 a gal. Disel is CRAZY at $4.89, so companies are struggling
The state of Washington is hiring end dumps and belly dumps in the Tacoma and Seattle areas. So if things don't work out soon, we just may head up there. -
