I know this debate and trouble at Yellow-Roadway Corp has been going on since what like 2008 now?
What is and I realize this is a loaded question, but at the core what is the trouble with YRC?
I know that it was kind of a tale wagging the dog situation, kind of like with Burlington Northern merged with Frisco, and basically Yellow took on a bunch of debt to buy a company that was bigger then they were.
Also how did YRC end up getting all the old TNT-USF companies and NewPenn and Greatwide and all that jazz?
What's the actual beef with YRC

Their financial issues! They almost went under a few times and were actually considering asking the government for a bailout.

They seem to be doing better. Heard they were getting new tractors. Yea the 15% pay cut sucked but I was able to use that to your advantage lol. I ran the road for them, and averaged anywhere from 800-950 after everything taken out. I wasn't at top rate yet

I'm taking home after taxes, -15%, 950-1000k a week on my bid. That's at .46cpm. I'm gonna be topped out here soon at .52cpm so I should be taking home 1000-1100 a week after taxes etc. We pay no medical here either. Break down, waiting, fueling, drop and hooking sets, all hourly and paid for. I know people at OD paying 400 a month for health benefits. Our health insurance is considered the best in the industry. One of the main things that keep older drivers from jumping ship. Making 80k a year is plenty for me here. Also this company is very laid back compared to the other LTL's. One of my coworkers said this is the closest thing to old school trucking left. A lot of the other LTL's are very corporate now and A lot more rules to follow and plenty of drivers knocking at the door to replace you if you screw up.Giuseppe Ventolucci, imtimmy, heyns57 and 1 other person Thank this. -
