They are putting cameras in all company trucks. The video announcement is at swiftdrivers.com when you log in. tells how they work and when theyre being installed.

I just now watched the video. What a load of bovine fecal material interwoven with corporate doublespeak. Or, as a buddy said, don't (ahem) urinate on our heads and tell us it's raining. At least Dick gave us an email addy and "wants to hear from us". He may end up regretting that statement. I will carefully and as diplomatically as possible let Dick know Swift will be losing a 100% on time, zero violations, zero critical events, zero hard braking driver. Unlike the "phased" implementation my resignation will be abrupt.
HousTank Thanks this. -

You cannot be forced to testify against yourself. It should go without saying that your camera, is not you. Your possessions can and will be used against you in any criminal case should they contain evidence of your guilt. But at the risk of repeating myself I will state once again, that your company policies are not laws and they are not a court of law. The 5th amendment does not ever enter into their policies. -
Also, there are things we do while we drive that could be interpreted as dangerous - when they are not any more dangerous than any other driver on the road.
Glancing over to change a radio channel or adjust the fan when something unexpected happens in front, for example.
There are too many variables when it comes to driving.
The problem is that we are held to 'a higher standard', and anything we do can and will be interpreted in any way they want.
And how about when we need to idle the truck in hot weather to stay cool all night?
That camera will be rolling and recording, and at any time they can pull down a video of you.
